Welcome to my room. Don't touch my toys! *swish*
My name is Linus, I'm a ten year old black and white cat. When I was
two weeks old, my 3 siblings and I were found in a box on the steps of
a building in downtown Dallas. A nice man found us and took us to his home
and tried to feed us as best he could. StarMaiden had been looking for
a kitten to live in Her new home and be a friend to Her little girl.
A friend told her about my siblings and I. She offered to take one of
us home, then decided to take two in case one didn't make it. She asked
Her friend to pick out the two friskiest kittens from the litter for
Her. When Her friend brought my brother Tiger and I to StarMaiden, we
were both so small that we could fit in the palms of Her hands. I've
grown quite a bit since then. StarMaiden and Her daughter, Lady Kitty,
fed us from little bitty baby bottles made for animals. They had special
formula just for kittens that was called Queens milk. It's made to be a close
a replacement for a mother cat's (called a Queen) milk. Every four
hours they fed us warmed milk from the bottles, testing it first on
their arms to make sure it wasn't too hot, like you would for a human
baby. When we were full, they would gently rub our little full tummies
to help us burp out the air we drank with the milk. (Mommy
StarMaiden always gets teary eyed and smiles so warmly at me when she
tells our story, especially here.) StarMaiden fed us in the morning
and came home at lunch to feed us. Then Lady Kitty would feed us when
She came home from school. A few hours later they fed us again, then
before bed we would have another bottle. Right in the middle of sleeping
StarMaiden and Lady Kitty would wake up and feed and burp us again.
Several people who saw us when StarMaiden first got us said that we
would never make it. We were too young to be away from our mother. But
what they didn't know was what good momma cat's my girls could be. My
brother Tiger and I lived together until we were almost a year old, then he
ran away. Probably chasing some pussy cat. Curling up in a ball...
stretching my feet out like a ballet dancer...grabbing them and pulling
them in towards me while I tuck My head in. Nap attack! I'll *yawn*
tell you more about myself later.
