Hi, we live in San Jose, California. (which is located in the South Bay Area 50 miles south of San Francisco, and is the capital of Silicon Valley)

I am a sixth generation San Josean. Mike is a Texas born but California raised "boy". Three of my grandparents immigrated from the Azores Islands (I am portuguese ) by boat in the early 1900's. My Grandmother was even a mailorder bride! They came to America for a better way of life..."streets paved of GOLD!"....

I have lived in South San Jose for over 20 years. After being divorced in 1998 I met Michael G. Barnhart in June 1999 on Matchmaker.com. We fell in love! Got engaged on Valentine's Day 2000 and married on July 1, 2000. We have three kids: Stephen, 19 and Megan, 15, and Matthew 16. Two beagles: Penny and Cindy. Two cats: Petunia and Indiana, one bird-"Bart". It's a real "Dr. Doolittle ZOO" around here! I'm a purchasing technician for a school district in San Jose. Mike is a fourth grade teacher in the same school district. We live close to work and that is great for a short commute!

My interests include gourmet cooking all nationality foods, flower design and decorating, playing with our beagles, and surfing the web. Mike is an avid sports fan. He has been a Little League coach for over 15 years and just started a new venture in sports. He has been working with the FerMar Group, as a new referee for Field Hockey, High School, Junior High School, PAL and PopWerner Football. Next sport is Basketball! Mike is going to switch from Little League coaching to Girl's Fast Pitch Softabll. Megan was in the PAL league for the first time and her team took the chmpionship last spring!

Now that I have a best friend to do fun things with, Mike and I love to travel. During the past two years we have gone to Mexico, Canada, Cruising and a driving trip up the North West region of the United States. We enjoy visiting Cabo San Lucas and are planning a return trip in early 2002.
