Phil's Journal

I've decided for my new project I am going to keep a journal
describing some of the ups and downs of a large adoptive family.
3/26/00 Today has been a great day. Church went over so-so (usually it is a test of my
wits). Couldn't find a seat all together, since it was a missionary return
and our front four benches were taken up, so Melissa's family and our family
split up. I sat between Lisa and Ginni, who were very well behaved the
entire meeting. Mitch beat us home so we had lunch ready when we got home, no
frantic rush to get food before the kids start screaming. Afterwards we
headed outside, where I perfected the art of playing two games at once. The
older kids (from nine up) were playing soccer, and the six ato eight year olds
wanted to play baseball, and of course they needed someone to pitch. Not
certain how it happened, but somehow I ended up pitching (me, the one who
can't throw, catch, or hit a baseball). Our yard is big, but not big enough
for two games at once so they overlapped a bit. At one point I was playing
both games, I ran after the ball Rick had hit, tossed it to Nana at second
base, and kicked the soccer ball into the goal, all at the same time! Being
part of a large family certainly improves your ability to perform multiple
activities at the same time. Mom's doing dinner right now and I figured I'd
finish up here before relinquishing the computer to HR.

3/27/00
Well, what can we say about today? It's been an interesting day,
rather unusual because of the lack of kids! I told you it
was unusual. Anyway, the dads took the kids snow mobiling,
all but the under twos. Mom took the two year olds, and I
decided to stay at home and enjoy some piece and quiet. I'm
taking a sewing class (Nuria talked me into it), and had some
pants to finish. Melissa used to teach sewing, and gave me
some pointers (I needed them). Really, I don't know why I
decided I could learn how to sew. We only had the two one
year olds, Mitchie, and Lee so things were rather easy and I
got a lot done. Went to visit Mitch's brother and his family
in a hotel and used the swimming pool, just the seven year
olds, Ian, Meli, Lena, Keegan, Jason, Breann, and myself.
"Only" fifteen people.

3/28/00 Today I had debate at school, which I elected to attend since Dad
said the next person to sluff gets to re-do the entire NFL
book. I did it the first time, no way is he getting me to do
it again! Nuria drove home, that's always an adventure. J/K,
actually she's a pretty good driver. Helped Melissa bath
the babies, wow was that an adventure. She handed me Lee to
hold while she got Mitchie in the bath, and apparently the
cold room air upset him, he let loose and covered me in baby
pee. I've had worse, but won't go into that in case you're
reading this just before dinner. After I cleaned up I helped
start dinner, and I figured I'd update this page before I
find out if we're going swimming again or not.

3/29/00 Wendsdays are always my busy days, since Mom goes out. Went to
school and basically hung out, came home early and helped with
the preschool/kindergarten kids. After chasing them all
outside to play I walked the daycare kids home, then came home and
did homework until Mom and Dad left. Took Lee and Mitchie
out of their cribs, carried them down to their feeding seats,
and when I put them down realized both sides of my pants were
very wet, three times in three days, not bad! Hauled Mitchie
and Lee back upstairs to change them (diapers AND clothing)
and myself, then carried them back downstairs and spooned
pears into their mouths. Fed everyone dinner (which, thankfully,
I hadn't had to make), then took Sandy upstairs and changed
his diaper and put him to bed (not an easy task). Came down
and gave Lee and Mitchie their bottles, changed them again,
and put them to bed (well, tried anyway, Lee didn't want to
sleep and ended up keeping me company). Cleaned the kitchen
(which was Dan and David's job) and did a load of laundry
(which was Meli and Lena's job), then cleaned the playroom (which
was Nana and Velle's job). When Mom got home I made snack,
which is usually a very coveted job since whoever makes the
snack gets to eat as much as they want! What did I make for
snack? Graham crackers and frosting, for everyone, used two
large boxes of crackers plus two extra packages. We eat a
lot. Decided to type this up, and then I'm going to go to
bed. So that's been my day.

3/30/00
Today I went to school, came home and watched the kids for awhile.
Helped with dinner (thankfully that wasn't my job,
it's a task). Went to Young Womens. Came home and put all
seven of the two-year-olds to bed, believe me that's a task.
Didn't do a lot today, nothing really interesting.

3/31/00
Okay, today I'm pretty fed up with my siblings. The adults are
out at a party, and basically I've let things go. They've
been driving me up a wall today. Put the two year olds to bed
and came out to make dinner, since no one else had done it
and everyone was complaining about being hungry. Made six
pizzas, that involved a lot of cheese grating. Finally got
the pizzas done, and by that time was too tired to serve it
all, so just set it on the table and let them dig in, and dig
in they did. Got it everywhere. Then they dumped out all
their toys. I fed the babies, put the two year olds to bed.
Came out to find the kitchen trashed. Bathed the three-year-
olds, put them to bed. It's 9:00 now, and I'm taking a break
while overseeing the five-year-olds as they pick up their
toys. Going to let them sleep in the living room, easier than
putting them in bed!

4/1/00
Well, today I took the ACT. For us the ACT isn't only a college
exam, it's what determines if we have to go to school next
year or not. See, if we get 36 or above on the ACT we take
the graduation test used for homeschoolers, and if we pass
that we can graduate early. I think I got in the 25-27 range,
which isn't bad, but I will be going to school next
year! Think I aced the English section though, and that means
I won't have to take an English course next year. After I
took the ACT I came home and watched four hours of general
confrence in a row (since I missed the first session taking
the ACT). Helped sort donations, we have four more boxes that
should be ready to go by Monday. Don't know where we'll put
them, we're pretty maxed out on space. Mitch and Melissa
went out to dinner, so I helped put their kids to bed. All
went down easily, aside from Mitchie who wanted some cuddling.
After the kids were in bed my Mom got a phone call
saying my cousin was in labor, so she went to be with her
(she's having a home birth). Her Mom is in Logan so it will
be a few hours before she gets there. Will wait up for her,
Dad is asleep and the moment I go to bed I guarentee one of
the kids will wake up!

This is an e-mail Gerri sent to a friend, she gave me permission
to use it here to give someone elses view of today.
Sorry for that last one, I hit the wrong button and before I
could write anything it was sent to you! I just wanted to
check up on you and see what's up. I'm exhausted. Today has
been a long, busy day. I had the ACT test, which, by the
way, I did horrible on, and then did six hours at work.
I didn't get to hear any conference, and I missed it. Yesterday
I went to the temple with . . . guess who?
(JOHNATHAN, her booy-friend) And I don't know when in the world I
will get my loads of history homework done. You think
homeschooling is easy? Think again. School's almost out,
you know! I'm pretty excited. I'm getting "Senioritis" even
though I'm not a senior, never go to debate any more. I
guess my friends gave it to me or something. Oh, I'm so
out of it! Write
back! Gerri

4/2/00 Well, lots to tell today! First off, shortly after midnight I
because involved in birthday mischief. We celebrate
birthdays once a month. The kids get excited, and we ended
up with kids running to and fro, hence the Midnight Mischief
rule, no birthday mischief until after midnight.
They thought this would discourage the mischief, instead it
encouraged them, now they elect an official and make that
poor soul stay up until midnight to get everything just
perfect. You guessed it, this month Iwas the elected
offical. Actually, had a lot of fun. Mom was gone late, my
cousin was in labor and she went to see the birth (9 lb. baby
boy, probably will be Ethan Michael). She got home
around 3 AM, and I just beat her to bed. I woke up early to
make breakfast: pancakes (we used half a bag of mix, about
5 lbs), fruit salad (2 large cans of pears, 1 can of
pinapple, 1 jar of marshino cherries, and a large container
of cottage cheese), and eggs (about two dozen, not very many
of us eat eggs). We watched confrence in the morning,
then just as it ended loaded in the bus (with ten
dozen sandwhiches) to go to Temple Square (we had two tickets
and four stand-by tickets, ended up getting more
from a wonderful person in line). Melissa's two oldest girls
went in with the tickets, Mom, Melissa, Alyssia
(Melissa's daughter), Dan, David, and I went in on the stand
by tickets. We actually got my ticket in an
interesting way. I was standing with the girls outside at
the gate, and a couple from Mesa, AZ came up and asked if we
wanted an extra ticket. I said I'd love one, so I took it
and went to find our crowd in line, showed Mom the ticket, and it was the seat right next to her!
A little miracle. It was
really very interesting waiting in line, there was a
preacher standing by us spewing anti-Mormon propaganda, and
the entire crowd was singing hymns. Confrence was great, we
came out to find the men (who were TOLD to watch the kids)
frantic, they'd lost Oliver. Thankfully the women
(with their foresight) had put a name tag with their cell
phone number on it. Wasn't long before we had located Oliver
and were on the bus coming home. Enjoyed birthday
cake, and the parents went to bed early. No one else is
asleep!

4/3/00
Today I did the grocery shopping for the family. I'm going to put
this month's menu online so that everyone can see how our
family eats! Basically a boring day today. Didn't go to
school, talked Dad into letting me stay home and work on the NFL
book. Don't know how I got stuck with the darn thing AGAIN.
Also have to get an article written for the school newspaper.
Guess I'd better work on that now.

4/4/00
Today has been a busy day. Went to school, then came home and school newspaper.
Guess I'd better work on that now.
helped with the preschool/kindergarten kids like I usually do
after school. Had a lot of trouble with Oliver and Alexander
today, they seemed very upset and overactive this afternoon.
Eventually put them down for an early nap, think Oliver is
running a fever. We're going to the movies for family night
tonight. Sixth sense for the older kids, not sure what the
younger kids will see.
Update: We went to the 8:00 show, didn't get everyone out of the
house in time for the 5:30 show and couldn't get tickets for
the 7:00 show. We saw Sixth Sense, I really liked it.
The younger kids saw Stuart Little, which they said is good.
Us older girls are going to go to movie night next Tuesday
and watch Sixth Sense again, and then Stuart Little.

4/5/00 Another day, another dollar. Fits today, Mom said she's going
Guess I'd better work on that now.

to start paying $5 an hour for "extra help". Anyone can get
an allowance if they want to, but I'm the only one who ever does.
Why? Because I'm the only one who will do the work,

hours, and put in extra time. Like today, when Mom left I
fed Lee and Mitchie (plain rice cereal) and fed the younger
kids dinner. Gerri and Nuria did help by running the
kids around, but that's not considered extra help, that's
something they do if they want Mom to keep buying
their gas. After they left I put the babies in their chairs
and got started on the dreaded list, that no one but me ever
does. Took out the garbage (the boys job), cleaned the
kitchen (Nana and Velle's job), traded Juan and Roddy
vaccuming for their folding, then ended up re-vaccuming
everything (remind me never to let a five-year-old vaccume),
gave Mitchie and Lee their bottles and changed
them, packed up the entire playroom for the move (30 boxes of
toys, dress up clothes, etc), got the playroom spotless,
and finished Juan and Roddy's laundry (should have
made them do it anyway). That's all so far.

4/6/00
Went to the Palymyra temple dedication early this morning (6:30
AM), then went to debate and stayed for sewing (I'm
doing a shirt now, or at least trying). Came home, ate
lunch, helped the preschool/kindergarten kids outside,
brought them inside, did some writing with them, packed up
most of the schooling stuff. Nuria and I had a great time
watching our show (Scarecrow and Mrs. King) and practicing a
song for the talent show Monday (If I didn't have you, from
Quest for Camelot), but that didn't work very well since
Gerri, Meli, and Lena weren't there. We've got quite the
routine going. After dinner the rest of the crowd went to
the dedication, leaving me with all the kids under eight and
one extra baby-sitter. Now Gerri and Dad are pouring over my
math, trying to figure out how to do it so they can unconfuse
me. So much for non-tutor math. Anyone who knows how to
factor polynomials drop me an e-mail!
4/7/00
Had a great day today. Came home from debate, watched my
show with Nuria (while playing with Cadao and Chuth and
trying to make about half a dozen other kids be quite so we
could hear). After the show was over Nuria was so kind as to
clean the basement, then Nuria and I went to the video store
and got "Emma" and "IQ". Came home, cleaned the basement
again, ate dinner, and we had a birthday party for Meli (we
throw our own birthday parties for the five of us). Did a
lot of eating, a lot of listening to music, and watched
"Emma", never did get around to IQ, it was 11:00 before we
had time, Alexander had slipped down and fallen asleep in my
lap, and we had two of Meli's friends to get home.
4/8/00
Another great day. Slept in this morning, then woke up,
helped out with the donations. Mom was gone, out to garage
sales with her sister, when she came home I went out with my
aunt again. We had so much fun, and bought sooo much stuff!
They were having a $1 a bag sale, we bought 14 bags, stuff
for everyone. Then I fed Chuthi and Cadao, changed them, fed
Lee a bottle, and watched Juan, Roddy, Dyami, Anne, Chuthi, Cadao, and Lee. Busy day.
4/9/00

Sunday, pretty boring. Melissa's family went to a baby
shower. We stayed home, went to our own ward, and did just about
nothing else. Not a majorly busy day. Spent a lot of time
relaxing, actually took a nap, didn't even cook dinner, Mom
already had it ready. Easy going.
4/10/00

Went to seminary, came home, went with Mom to go do some

shopping and pick up some donations, came home and
inventoried all the donations (we've got over 100 boxes going to
Kazakhstan this month). Helped Mom clean house, went with her
and the older boys to run errands, came home for family
night, and made 10 dozen cookies (Snickerdoodles, since the
recipie is easy to double).
4/11/00

Didn't go to debate today, stayed home and worked on the
handbook some more. Helped with the two-year-olds. Helped
with donations. Helped with dinner. Basically just helped
out with everything. Mom leaves in three days and is pretty
panicked now, busy trying to get everything together. We're
having pizza for dinner, sure way to tell she's stressed. 4/12/00
Another Wendsay. What else can I say? Came home from
school, we had a great debate about homeschooling. Helped with
the preschool/kindergarten kids as usual. Cleaned house, made
dinner, did the dishes, changed Sandy (he was a mess, and
with cloth diapers it's easier to toss the entire kid into the
tub than to try and change the diaper). Sent the kids out to
play after they got in their pajamas (you can play for
fifteen minutes after your pajamas are on works better than you
can play for fifteen minutes and then get your pajamas on).
Fed Lee and Mitchie their baby food, and then a bottle,
changed them. They were really fussy tonight, wanted to be held a
lot. Cleaned the playroom. Now updated this and finishing
homework. Gerri is doing history homework (and talking with
her boyfriend way past when she should be). I'm still stuck
on math.

4/13/00

Been a very, shall we say interesting day. Went to debate,
spent a lot of time in the writing lab, came home and
actually didn't watch kids today! Did have to make phone
calls though. Found out the seven swings we planned to take
to Kazakhstan (tommorow!) have been recalled. Need a new
safety restraint. So I had to order seven safety restraints,
that wasn't a lot of fun. Was in the middle of the phone
call when my sisters screamed that our ride for young womens
was here, just finished the phone call, grabbed my shoes and
ran barefoot out the door, and almost into a chaufer (sp?).
A strech limo was sitting in our driveway, and here I am
barefoot and in my grubbies. Went "cruising", it was amazing
to see the looks you get in a limo! It was really cool!
Then we got to the church for our "Night on the Oscars". Mom
was the MC! She was dressed up in a cool costume, and did
such a great job! We all did fun skits. Took some cool
pictures that I'll share later. Fun activity!

4/14/00

Mom left today for Kazakhstan. Things were really busy here!
I had my birthday party today, invited five friends, HR and
Heidi, and all four of my teenage sisters. We had a lot of
fun, first we finished the donations, then I tossed pizza in
the oven and we ate pizza and watched videos (While You Were
Sleeping and Ever After). The boys camped outside to get a
merit badge for scouts, and nearly burnt the house down (just
kidding).
4/15/00

A very dull and uneventful day, NOT. I rode my bike two
miles to try and find garage sales, came home and watched the two-
year-olds, packed my clothing (Gerri, Nuria, and I are moving
to the new house on Monday). Cleaned the house, got on the
radio (asked a question about Hep B. on a health talk show),
fed the two-year-olds and put them down to bed. Long day!
4/17/00

Nothing special happened yesterday, so I didn't write. Today
lots of special things happened, it was my birthday! Got the
computer stuff I had been wanting, and a portrite of myself,
as well as some scissors from Nuria (think it's a hint? I
always use hers in sewing class), and some gooze from Gerri
(think it was a joke). Went to the Humanitarian Aid Center,
which was really great. When we got home I went to the school
play with Nuria and Gerri. The play was "See how they run"
and was really funny! I didn't have to change diapers, wash
dishes, or clean the house all day, which was really amazing!
We even moved into the property, and I still didn't have to
do any work (I did it all on Saturday). My friend (who is
pregnant through date rape) moved in with us, she called me
yesterday and said her parents kicked her out of the house,
wanted to talk to my mom, but of course she wasn't there. I
told her mom wouldn't mind her moving in with us (I knew she
wouldn't, and when she called she told me so). So I've got
another sister my age, for awhile at least! She's due in
July.

4/19
It's been way too busy for me to write regularly. Tuesday
went well, first full day at the new property. Today we went
back home to go to the cannery (we canned rasberry jam, and
Melissa stayed home and canned strawberry jam herself). Got
home and had a ton of work to do (as usual), changed and fed
Mitchie, Cadao, and Chuthi, cleaned the playroom (amazing how
they can make twice the usual mess with half the toys when
given an extra day!), helped clean the house, and helped pull
the food storage out. We then took the entire family, and
most of the food storage, up to the property, not a great
trip! When we got to the property I watched the kids outside,
read an "I Spy" book with Nana and Velle, and watched them
outside again until the food storage was unloaded. The family
then went home, and we stayed here (we do have the four two-
year-old girls). Grammy just got home, and will be taking
Chuthi, Cadao, and Sandy for a few days. Mom is due home 4/
21.
4/20
Didn't do a lot today. Watched the two-year-olds, sat at
home, and worked on the computer. Set up my new system and
played around with it, I can now do videos, though that
doesn't do me much good since we don't have a video camera.
That will have to be next Christmas!

4/21
Today was a very busy day! I got up early, the two-year-olds
were getting into trouble. Cleaned the entire house top to
bottom in preperation for mom's arrival. Then Melissa and
the family came, bringing the dishes to unload. We went to
Thanksgiving Point to buy plants for the garden, then came
home to celebrate Melissa's birthday. She got more dishes
and more plants! We hung around at the house for awhile, had
an early dinner (my idea, grocery store chicken, easy and not
too expensive). Mom got home, and Mitch went to the airport
to pick him up. I evesdropped on a conversation between
Gerri and Jonathan, I don't know how they can put up with
such boring small talk! At 7:00 we went to a fund raiser for
Kazakhstan. It was skating, and boy did we have fun! Of
course I spent most of my time helping the younger kids, but
I didn't mind. One of my favorite moments was when we were
skating around, and I had Dyami and Chyou. The song from
Tarzan, "Two hearts, one family" (don't know the real title)
came on, one of my favorites because I feel it describes kind
of how our family is! We made $80, and then an anonymos
donar matched that, so we have $160 for the orphanage. Not a
lot, considering that we pay $2,000 a month for their
caretaker and fruit on Mondays, but it's a good start!

4/25

Today Melissa's oldest daughter, HR, had a certified nervous
breakdown. She has been checked into a mental hospital to
recieve treatment. Her two-year-olds are in Melissa's care.

4/26

Today my friend contacted her boyfriend and tried to move in
with him, didn't work. He wants nothing to do with her or
the baby.

4/27
Today was a busy day. Taught a preschool/kindergarten lesson
on turtles. David was having a bad day, Juan and Roddy threw
screaming fits all night, Nana and Velle were not cooperating
at all, and no one got any work done but me (I ended up
feeding Lee, getting Sandy dinner, changing him-twice, and putting
him to bed, as well as doing most of the laundry).

4/28
Today Mom and Dad went out. I stayed home with the youngest
fourteen children (from five years down), since Gerri was off
with her BOYFRIEND and Nuria had a bunch of friends over.
Lee to Sandy were already in bed (the eight youngest). The
older boys were sleeping outside, and David and Dakota
basically took care of themselves. I played with Dyami, Chyou,
Jodi, and Anne. We played house, had a birthday party for
"Mittens" (Dyami's stuffed kitten), played barbies, and played
some games. We then had baths (two girls at a time, been a
long time since I've done baths) and read stories (fourteen of
them!). Then got Juan and Roddy to go to bed (not much
struggle there), Nana and Velle were already in bed, but Rick and
Kenny were VERY difficult. Took about ten stories to get
them to stay in bed. Cleaned the kitchen (once again, not my
job), and the girls' room, and Rick and Kenny's room. Now I
am doing the laundry (part my own and part the two-year-olds). 9/11
Well, school has started, and with it comes the journal
writing assingment. Rather than write in my own journal (the
odds of that happening are one in a zillion) I'm going to
start this one up again. Melissa got some new kids today,
infant twins. They won't be too much trouble, as she's
gotten a full time nanny to care for them, and they sure are
cute!

9/12
Today we had a culture day. These are all-out educational
experiences. Today's culture day was on Native American's,
and boy was it an adventure! The kids had a story in the
teepee with an indian (Grandma), they made an indian game and
drew indian signs, they shot the "buffalo" with the bow and
arrow (plastic, of course), learned a real indian dance (the
snake dance) and finally they went on a berry hunt (for candy
berries). It was a lot of work, but the kids had a lot of
fun!

9/13
Actually didn't do much with the kids today, it was Nuria's
day with the kids and she's good with them. I did steal
bedtime with Lee and Mitchie though, not the hard part
(getting them ready for bed), but the fun part, bottles and
rocking. I love to rock the babies to sleep!

9/14
Wow, busy day today! Probably because it was my day with the
kids, plus mom went to the airport today (she expected to

leave yesterday, but the flight was delayed). I got home

from school, and started in on the kids right away. Nuria
and Gerri were doing a lot of running around, getting kids to
and from places, so I stayed and supervised things at home.
We had pizza for dinner, then most of the crew went to a
football game, Meli and Lena's soccer game, or to the
airport. I was left home with eighteen kids, Allison (9
months), Mitchie (1), Lee (1), Jose (1), Cadao (1.5), Chuthi
(2), Cheri (2), Mani (2), Oliver (4), Alexander (4), Jessi
(5), Anne (5), Jodi (5), Juan (5), Roddy (5), Nana (7), Velle
(7), and Laura (7). The nanny was there with the twins, but
was in her room most of the time. We had pizza for dinner,
then I fought with Juan and Roddy over unloading the
dishwasher (they were the only members of the kitchen team
home), and all the while I was trying to make zucchini
muffins for breakfast tommorow. It was pure insanity! After
Melissa got home I took the babies (Allison, Mitchie, Lee,
and Jose) upstairs and got them ready for bed, insanity all
over again. Mitchie has discovered a fun game, which
involves climbing on top of me to get onto the bed in the
nursery, then rolling head first off the bed, forcing me to
rush to catch him before he hits the ground, and here I am
trying to dress Lee at the same time! I missed once, poor
little guy. Thankfully the floor of the nursery is soft, and
the bed is not high up. Finally I got all four babies to
bed, then Michelle left and I was left with Jaron.
Amazingly, he slept through the night for the second
night in a row. Maybe he's grown out of the colic?

10/12
Woke up and got myself dressed, then dressed Chuthi, Cadao,
Mitchie, and Jose. Went down to brakfast, fed the four boys,
put Mitchie and Lee in the excersaucers, and left Chuthi and
Cadao to play on the floor. Made my bed and cleaned up my
room. We drove to school for debate, and I stayed at school
for lunch and my college classes. Came home, and got to work.
I cleaned the kitchen, worked with Meli and Lena on the play
room, and vaccumed the entire house. Then I got Mitchie, Lee,
Chuthi, and Cadao up from their naps, changed them, cleaned
them up, and brought them downstairs and fed them. I ate
dinner, and got the kids fed-Melissa was running errands and Mitch
was coaching soccer. Folded rags and baby clothing, and got
Cheri and Mani ready for bed. Mani threw up, so I cleaned
her up, and put the girls to bed. Had to seperate Roddy,
Juan, Rick, and Kenny. I made Roddy and Juan get ready for bed,
wiped off the table (not my job, but Nana, Velle, Laura,
Jessi, and Anne were getting ready for a piano recital). The boys
were fussing in their highchairs, so I took them out and
dressed them for bed. Mitchie and Jose had both soaked right
through their diapers, and Chuthi and Cadao wriggled out of
theirs. Don't think they're ready for large yet. Finally got the
boys ready for bed, I put Mitchie in the backpack, and held
Lee while I tried to clean the kitchen. Chuthi and Cadao
cheerfully unloaded the dishwasher as fast as I loaded it. I put
all four boys on the floor in the family room and poured the
reaminder of a bag of Fruity O's on the floor to keep them
busy. Meli and Lena came in and said Melissa told them to
take over, just as I finished the kitchen. I fed the cats, a
task since we're currently mixing canned food and dried food,
and came to work on the website, since my choice is keep this
website up to date or take a high school English class.

10/19/00
Another busy day! This afternoon was absolutly crazy! Nuria
has sold her soul to band, and Gerri has sold her soul to
chorus, so I was the only older girl home. I came in to find
Melissa frantic, she handed me Chuthi and Cadao as she rushed
out the door to pick up the other kids. I took Chuthi and
Cadao downstairs to get the other babies up from their nap.
Mitchie and Lee were asleep in the nursery in the stackable
cribs. Mitchie had a horrible diaper, and his entire crib was
a mess. I hauled him into the bathroom to wash him off, then
set him on the floor naked while I pulled the bedding out of
the crib. In the meantime he wet on the carpet. So I
finished changing the bedding, then scrubbed the carpet. After I
finally had him all cleaned up I changed Lee, and took them
downstairs. Melissa had come home and made lunch for them, so
I lined all five babies (Chuthi, Cadao, Mitchie, Lee, and
Allison) up in their highchairs and spooned food into their
mouths. Melissa had to leave again, she left the four baby
boys, Juan, Roddy, Cheri, Mani, Lisa, and Ginni. The older
kids played outside while I cleaned up the babies, then I got
everyone ready for bed early. Melissa came home, and we got
dinner ready for everyone. We fed myself, Lars, Kel, Clyff,
David, Dakota, Kenny, Rick, Nana, Velle, Jodi, Anne, Juan,
Roddy, Dyami, Chyou, Cheri, Mani, Lissa, and Ginni. Melissa
had Benji, Keegan, Jason, Breann, Laura, Chandler, Ian, Katy,
Felicity, Jessi, Shealynn, Teresa, Felice, Lyndsey, Arty,
Valerie, Zach, Holly, Victoria, Cortt, and Chase. 42 people
total, a "small" crowd tonight. After dinner I helped do
laundry and folding.
