My Daily
Prayer Book
Come Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, fill
the hearts of thy faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of thy
love.Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created, and thou
shalt renew the face of the earth. Let us pray O God, who did
instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy
Spirit, grant us in the same spirit to be truly wise, and ever to
rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen
Morning Offering
O my God, I offer Thee
all my prayers , works and sufferings, in union with the Sacred
Heart of Jesus,For the intentions for which he pleads and offers
Himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the mass, in thanksgiving for
Thy favors, in reparation for my offenses, and in humble
supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare, for the wants
of our holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners, and
for the relief of the poor souls in purgatory. I wish to gain all
the indulgences attached to the prayers I shall say, and to the
good works I shall perform this day.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily
sorry for having offended You and I detest all my sins, because I
dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all
because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving
of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to
confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life.
Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly
believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that your divine Son became man
and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living
and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy
Catholic Church teaches, because you revealed them, who can
neither deceive nor be deceived.
Act
of Hope
O my God, relying on your
infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my
sins, the help of your grace, and life everlasting, through the
merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.
Act of Love
O my God, I love you
above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because you are
all good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself
for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and I ask
pardon of all whom I have injured.
Jesus
Prayer
O my Jesus, I
adore Thee in the Holy Sacrament of the altar, I acknowledge
Thee as my creator and sovereign Lord, in deepest humility I
prostrate myself before Thee. Bless me O my Savior and suffer me
to abide with Thee for all eternity.Amen
THE
LORD'S PRAYER - THE OUR FATHER
Our Father, who art in
heaven, hollowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us. Deliver us not into temptation but deliver us from
evil. Amen.
Dear
God
Take my life and let me
love serenely for today. Open my mind to happy thoughts. Take
away my ill will towards others. Make it possible for me to feel
joy, love, and compassion and allow me to live again. Help me to
accept what is, to hold my tongue, to do my daily tasks, to let
go with love. Take away my worries about the future. Make me
realize that in your hands everything is provided, that I have no
control over anything but myself, that today is precious and will
soon be gone. Help me to remember that all the hatred and pains
that are directed at me is the hatred and pain the other person
is feeling toward themselves. Thank-you for your willingess to
accept my burdens and lighten my load. Amen
Prayer for the
Souls in Purgatory
O gentle Heart of Jesus,
ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning
love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on them.
Be not severe in Your judgements, but let some drops of Your
Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames. And Merciful
Savior, send Your angels to conduct them to a place of
refreshment, light and peace.Amen
Deliver
Them from Purgatory
My Jesus, by the sorrows
Thou didst suffer in Thine agony in the Garden, in Thy scourging
and crowning with thorns, on the way to Calvary, in Thy
crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in purgatory and
especially on those that are most forsaken; do Thou deliver them
from the terrible torments they endure; call them and admit them
to Thy most sweet embrace in paradise. Amen.
For
the Most Forgotten Soul
O Lord God Almighty, I
beseech Thee by the Precious Body and Blood of Thy divine Son
Jesus, which He Himself on the night before His Passion gave as
meat and drink to His beloved Apostles and bequeathed to His Holy
Church to be the perpetual Sacrifice and life-giving nourishment
of His faithful people, deliver the souls in purgatory, but most
of all, that soul which was most devoted to this Mystery of
infinite love, in order that it may praise Thee therefor,
together with Thy Divine Son and the Holy Spirit in Thy glory for
ever. Amen.
Saint Gertrude's
prayer
Eternal Father, I offer
You the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union
with all the Masses being said throughout the world todayFor all
the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, those in the
Universal Church, in my home and Within my family. Amen.
Saint Michael' s
Prayer
Saint Michael the
Archangel defend us in battle,: be our defense against the
wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly
pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of
God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who
prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen
Old Prayer to
Saint Michael the Archangel
Glorious Prince of the
Celestial Host, Saint Michael theArchangel, defend us in
theconflict which we have to sustain against the principalities
andpowers, against the rulers of the world of the darkness,
against thespirits of wickednessin the high places.(Ephesians VI.
12). Come tothe rescue of men whom God has created to His image
and likeness and whom He has redeemed at a great price, from the
tyranny of the devil. It is thou whom Holy Church venerates as
her guardian and her protector; thou whom the Lord has charged to
conduct redeemed souls into heaven. Pray, therefore, the God of
Peace to subdue Satan beneath our feet, that he may no longer
retain men captive nor do injury to the Church. Present our
prayers to the Most High, that without delay they may draw His
mercy down upon us. Seize "the dragon, the old serpent,
which is the devil and Satan," bind him and cast him into
the bottomless pit . . . "that he (may) no longer seduce the
nations." (Apoc. XX. 2,3)

Angel Guardian
Angel of God,my Guardian
dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day (or
night)be at my side,to light and guard, to rule and guide.Amen.
GUARDIAN
ANGEL PRAYER - OLD
O Holy Angel, attendant
of my wretched soul and of mine afflicted life, forsake me not, a
sinner, neither depart from me for mine inconstancy. Give no
place to the evil demon to subdue me with the oppression of this
mortal body; but take me by my wretched and outstretched hand,
and lead me in the way of salvation. Yea, O holy Angel of God,
the guardian and protector of my hapless soul and body, forgive
me all things whatsoever wherewith I have troubled thee, all the
days of my life, and if I have sinned in anything this day.
Shelter me in this present night, and keep me from every affront
of the enemy, lest I anger God by any sin; and intercede with the
Lord in my behalf, that He might strengthen me in the fear of
Him, and make me a worthy servant of His goodness. Amen.
Hail
Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of
God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Hail,
Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother
of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we
cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then,
most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after
this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.
The Angelus
V- The Angel of the Lord
declared unto Mary. R- And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
(Hail Mary....) V- Behold the handmaid of the Lord. R- Be it done
unto me according to thy word. (Hail Mary....) V- And the Word
was made Flesh. R- And dwelt among us. (Hail Mary....) V- Pray
for us, O Holy Mother of God. R- That we may be made worthy of
the promises of Christ. LET US PRAY: Pour forth, we beseech Thee,
O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we to whom the
Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of
an Angel, may by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory
of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious
Virgin Mary,That never was it known that any one, who fled to thy
protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left
unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin
of virgins my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of they Word Incarnate, despise
not my petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen.
Stabat Mater
At the cross her station keeping,
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.
Through her heart, his sorrow sharing,
All his bitter anguish bearing.
Now at length the sword had passed.
Oh, how sad and sore distressed
Was that Mother highly blessed
Of the sole begotten One!
Christ above in torment hangs,
She beneath beholds the pangs
Of her dying, glorious Son.
Is there one who would not weep,
'Whelmed in miseries so deep,
Christ's dear Mother to behold?
Can the human heart refrain
From partaking in her pain,
In that mother's pain untold?
Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,
She beheld her tender Child,
All with bloody scourges rent.
For the sins of his own nation
Saw him hang in desolation
Till his spirit forth he sent.
O sweet Mother! Font of love,
Touch my spirit from above,
Make my heart with yours accord.
Make me feel as you have felt;
Make my soul to glow and melt
With the love of Christ, my Lord.
Holy Mother, pierce me through,
In my heart each wound renew
Of my Savior crucified.
Let me share with you his pain,
Who for all our sins was slain,
Who for me in torments died.
Let me mingle tears with you
Mourning him who mourned for me,
All the days that I may live.
By the cross with you to stay,
There with you to weep and pray,
Is all I ask of you to give.
Virgin of all virgins blest!
Listen to my fond request:
Let me share your grief divine.
Let me to my latest breath,
In my body bear the death
Of that dying Son of yours.
Wounded with his every wound,
Steep my soul till it has swooned
In his very blood away.
Be to me, O Virgin, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In his awful judgment day.
Christ, when you shall call me hence,
Be your Mother my defense,
Be your cross my victory.
While my body here decays,
May my soul your goodness praise,
Safe in heaven eternally.Amen. (Alleluia.)
Act
of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that
You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things,
and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You
sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though
You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to
You; never permit me to be separated from You.
Memore
to St. Joseph
Remember O most chaste
Spouse of the Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who
implored your help and sought your intercession was left
unassisted. Full of confidence in your power, I fly unto you, and
beg your protection. Despise not, O foster-father of the
Redeemer, my humble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and
answer me. Amen

impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and
charity, with true repentance for my sins and a most firm desire

TIME OF SUFFERING
Behold me, my beloved
Jesus, weighed down under the burden of my trials and sufferings,
I cast myself at Your feet, that You may renew my strength and my
courage, while I rest here in Your Presence. Permit me to lay
down my cross in Your Sacred Heart, for only Your infinite
goodness can sustain me; only Your love can help me bear my
cross; only Your powerful hand can lighten its weight. O Divine
King, Jesus, whose heart is so compassionate to the afflicted, I
wish to live in You; suffer and die in You. During my life be to
me my model and my support. At the hour of my death, be my hope
and my refuge. Amen.
For Healing
Lord, You invite all who
are burdened to come to You. Allow your healing hand to heal me.
Touch my soul with Your compassion for others. Touch my heart
with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch my mind with

me to reach out to You in my need, and help me to lead others to
You by my example. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in

Receive my confession, O
most loving and gracious Lord Jesus Christ, only hope for the
salvation of my soul. Grant to me true contrition of soul, so
that day and night I may by penance make satisfaction for my many
sins. Savior of the world, O good Jesus, Who gave Yourself to the
death of the Cross to save sinners, look upon me, most wretched
of all sinners; have pity on me, and give me the light to know my

committing them again. O gracious Virgin Mary, Immaculate Mother
of Jesus, I implore you to obtain for me by your powerful
intercession these graces from you Divine Son. St. Joseph, pray
for me.
After
Confession
O almighty and most
merciful God, I give You thanks with all the powers of my soul
for this and all other mercies, graces, and blessings bestowed on
me, and prostrating myself at Your sacred feet, I offer myself to
be henceforth forever Yours. Let nothing in life or death ever
separate me from You! I renounce with my whole soul all my
treason's against You, and all the abominations and sins of my
past life. I renew my promises made in Baptism, and from this
moment I dedicate myself eternally to Your love and service.
Grant that for the time to come, I may detest sin more than death
itself, and avoid all such occasions and companies as have
unhappily brought me to it. This I resolve to do by the aid of
Your divine grace, without which I can do nothing. Amen.
Watch, O Lord (St.
Augustine)
Watch, O Lord, with those
who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels and
saints charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord
Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your
suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous
ones, and all for Your love's sake. Amen.

and that You might abide with me forever. Most Blessed Light,
most Amiable Light, enlighten me. O Rapturous Joy of Paradise,
Fount of Purest Delight, My God, give yourself to me and kindle
in my innermost soul the fire of Your love. My Lord, instruct,
direct, and defend me in all things. Give me strength against all
immoderate fears and against despondency. Bestow upon me a true
faith, a firm hope, and a sincere and a perfect love. Grant that

within me the seed of eternal damnation. Instead, O Lord Jesus
Christ, Adorable God, Holy King, while I sleep, protect me by
Your Holy spirit, through Whom You sanctified Your Apostles.
Enlighten my mind by the light of the Holy Gospel, my soul by the
love of Your Cross, my heart by the purity of Your teaching.

A
Prayer for Success in Work
Glorious St. Joseph,
model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the
grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my
many sins; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an
honor to employ and develop, by means of labor, the gifts
received from God; to work with order, peace, prudence and
patience, never surrendering to weariness or difficulties; to
work, above all, with purity of intention, and with detachment
from self, having always death before my eyes and the account
which I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good
omitted, of vain complacency in success so fatal to the work of
God. All for Jesus, all for Mary, all after thy example, O
Patriarch Joseph. Such shall be my motto in life and death. Amen.

creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous
powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for

Saint
Jude
Most holy Apostle St.
Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the
traitor who delivered the beloved Master into the hands of His
enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church
honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless
cases, of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable;
make use, I implore you, of this particular privilege accorded to
you, to bring visible and speedy help, where help is almost
despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I
may receive the consolations and succor of Heaven in all my
necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (here
make your request), and that I may bless God with you
and all the elect forever.
I promise you, O blessed
St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will
never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to
do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.
