As a troop service project this year, we've decided to donate time to our local Humane Society. We attended a training at the shelter by an obedience trainer that helped us to know how to act with the animals. We are going to the shelter every month to help train the dogs to walk on a leash and not to jump on people. By giving the dogs obedience training, they become more adoptable. We're hoping to give donations of things that the shelter needs throughout the year. We're hoping to learn more about animals and their behavior and help an organization that helps homeless animals in our area.
We're also going to wrap presents for our local Association for Retarded Citizens. Every year at Christmas, they give presents to local families and we are going to help by wrapping presents and delivering to some of the families.
We have already planning some of our field trips for this year. We are going to go to the Sloan Museum exhibit at Genesee Valley Center called "Finding Your Way" in December. Our neighborhood Junior Lock-in is in January. We plan on having an overnight for Thinking Day and participate in the Thinking Day Chat and then go for a Mexican dinner at the Taco House. We want to go to the Detroit Science Center for an overnight in April and then go to the Binder Park Zoo for the Zoo Snooze in May.
We will tell you more about our trips as the year goes on. Go Back
