20/20

Introduction: The first thing we think of when I say, twenty-twenty is of perfect sight. In the Bible, I would like to look at some books of the Bible at the twentieth chapter and the twentieth verse. Let's see how they could apply to sight.

1. Mose's Sight: Exodus 20:20, And Moses said unto the people, Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces that ye sin not.

a. Moses wanted us to see that we are not to fear, for God wants us to trust in him.

b.We should see God's plan for our lives means the absences of sin from our lives. {There is a need for God's fear to be put back on people especially today.}

2.Men of Gibeah's Sight: Judges 20:20, And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.

a.The tribe of Benjamin in Gibeah had allowed an women to be raped and killed, the husband of the dead woman sent her body parts to the other tribes desiring justice.

b.The men of the other tribes of Israel were so enraged, that them ready themselves for battle against Benjamin. The poor sight of the leaders in this tribe was about to bring death and destruction.

3.Hezekiah's Sight:2 Kings 20:20, And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.

a. Hezekiah had enough fore sight as to bringg the water into the city in times of fighting wars or during shortages where water use could be monitored.

b. The Bible also teaches that Hezekiak has spiritual sight, in that during destressing times he would seek the advice of the prophet of God.

4.Mother of James and John's Sight: Matthew 20:20, Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

a. The mother of James and John saw the need to get in her bid in for the seats next to Jesus, after the Kingdom was established.

b.This mother came looking to receive a certain thing, she had enough sight to come in the spirit of worship.

5. Spies Sight: Luke 20:20, And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliever him unto the power and authority of the governor.

a.The Priest and Scribes payed spies to watch Jesus and find fault with him.

b.These spies wanted to see how that they might deliever Jesus over unto the Governor.{ Jesus taught by your words your justified and by your words your condemned. }

6. Disciples Sight: John 20:20, And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

a.The Disciples sight was helped as they saw the nail prints in his hands and in his side.

b. The Disciples were glad to see their resurrected Lord.

7. Paul's Sight: Acts 20:20, And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house.

a. Paul had brought the manifestation of the power of God to the sight of the people.

b.Paul shared his sight with the people from house to house.

Conclusion: We tend to be blind to the spiritual things that God would have us to see. Physical sight and spiritual sight are not the same thing. Fanny Crosby was physically blind, but what spiritual sight this woman possessed as she penned the words to Blessed Assurance Jesus is mine.

Something To Ponder:

A elderly man was dying an on his death bed, he requested that his Doctor and Lawyer of many years were present. His instructions were to have them stand one on the one side of the bed and the other on the other side of the bed. After getting the two assembled the lawyer said to the dying man, you must have thought a lot about us to request our presence.In a weaken voice the man whispered, no I just wanted to die like my Lord Jesus, between two thieves. By Coley Turner

This is a joke, but truth is a lot of those in those professions have became just that thieves.
