If I can cheer some lonely heart; As down through life I go. And plant a little spark of hope; In some sad heart to glow. And think my life worth while; If by some word or deed of mine, is born a sunny smile.
If I can find some kindly deed; That my weak hands can do. To lift the burden of someone; That's long been sad and blue. I could forget my burdens Lord; And smile beneath my cross. If I can only point the way;to others who are lost.
If I could only rub some balm; on all the broken hearts. The peace and happiness I've found; To others could impart. Then all my shackles Lord, would fall and I would be so free; And the smiles that I from others win, I will dedicate to thee.
Give unto us, Oh God we pray; The strength we need from day to day.Help us to be strong brave and true; Oh guide us Lord in all we do.
May we our needs to thee confess;Look down Oh Lord, we pray and bless.Keep thou our hearts within thy clasp; Until our span of life has passed.
Hear then the prayer for those we love; And guide their lives from up above.Give them the faith to face each task; All this we humbly in thy name ask.
We give thee thanks for all life's worth; For joy for work for happy mirth. For strength and love and thee to praise; For thy sweet guidance through our day.
And now Oh Lord again we pray; Bless thou our lives from day to day.Oh keep us ever in thy hand; And lead us to that promise land.
Are you only just pretending; In the picture of Life's stage? With no goal of higher motive; Than to earn your weekly wage. Then you'll miss the joy of living; And the peace that doth abide. When life's busy day is over; And you rest at evening tide.
Are you true in all your dealings; And sincere in what you do? Is your word your bond to others; Can they fully trust in you? Life is short and full of troubles; But there's lots of joy too. If you play the part in earnest; That has been assigned to you.
You won't get no where pretending; And will soon be on the shelf. You may succeed in fooling others; But you can not fool yourself. And though small your part's important; If the pattern you could see. And it helps to just remember that; Your painting for eternity.
The things I've done amiss today; And those undone along the way. If I fail the golden rule to live; Forgive me Lord, Oh Lord forgive.
If opportunity passed me by; And I heeded not the begger's cry. Or failed the widow's mite to give; For this I pray dear Lord forgive.
And give me wisdom, Lord to see; The work thou hast appointed me. And courage when my faith is small; To pray again, forgive me all.
And since I pass but once this way; May some kind deed or word I say. Or the melody of a cheerful song; Be remembered, when I'm gone.
If I can lighten some one's load; Along life's steep and rocky road. Or leave a song in some ones heart; To linger after I depart.
I will not regret my journey here; Though blinded oft by sorrow's tears. I will be glad that I have lived; To daily pray, Oh Lord forgive.
God bless the friend who overlooks; The many faults in me. Who loves me for myself; And for the things I could be. Whose tender heart and thoughtful ways; Add so much pleasure to my days.
God bless the friends who see my needs; And reaches out a hand. Who lifts me up, who prays for me; And helps me understand. Who shares my problems come what may; Who's alway there from day to day.
God bless the friend, who laughs with me; And make the Sun to shine. Who helps me see life's goodness; And the blessing that are mine. That friendship is a special part; Of all that's precious to my heart.
If there is nothing Lord; That I can do for thee today. May I be careful not to stand; Where I block another's way. For thy fields are white with harvest; And the laborers are few. Teach me not to hinder others; When there's nothing I can do.
If I harvest strength Dear Lord; To reap as I have dreamed. May I be content to walk; Behind with Ruth and gleam. For there are many fallen ones; Along the road of life. Who need someone to lift them up; And point them to the right.
Just keep my heart in tune with thee; That I may know thy will. Whither I'm called to serve Lord; Or caution to be still. Just make my life a channel; Through which thy love may flow. To light the way for others; As down though life I go.
We thank the Lord, for the glad new year; With it's pages so fair and white. And as we crass each spotless page;Guide thou our steps aright.
Each day a new leaf is turned; A record of which we make. And may there be some golden deeds; Among our vast mistakes.
May we strive each day to do; Some deed of love for thee. For when the book at last is sealed; No chance there will be.
By our deeds we'll be judged by and by; When our record is read in the end. Tis the good deeds that will justify; But the bad ones that will condemn.
May we a better record make; In ninety eight for thee. And lay more trophies at thy feet; Of souls, we've won for thee.
This morning when I awakened; And saw the Sun above. I softly said, Good morning Lord; Bless everyone I love.
Right away I thought of you; And said a loving Prayer. That He would bless you specially; And keep you free from Care.
I thought of all the Happiness; A day could hold in store. I wished it all for you, because; No one deserves it more.
I felt so warm and good inside; My heart was all aglow. I know God heard my prayers for you; He hears them all you know.
