False Hope: There is today a false hope that is being taught to people of different faiths. This false hope is one that teaches that one can be Christ-like and remain with a sinful nature. This false hope has a large following with several big name Preachers, Baptist by denomination.
This false hope has scriptures to support it, saying no man shall pluck you out of the Father's hand. This false hope is part of many denominations "Statements of Faith". This false hope is the Once Saved Always Saved teaching that has taken many captive. I'm a firm believer that many well meaning individuals have joined this false hope.
There are those that subscribe to this doctrine, that part way know better. Even to the point of saying they don't have to practise sinning, but in the same breathe say they still continue to sin. With in the heart of this believer beats a desire to keep the commandments of God. I desire to be honest with people to the place that I can save someone from a devil's hell.
Jesus said, not everyone that says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter into heaven. Jesus goes on to say in Matthews 7:23, Depart from me, I will profess to them I never knew you. Notice these same people prophesied under God's anointing, cast out real devils in Jesus name and did wonderful works. Jesus warned about a tree and the fruit it bears. Apple trees don't produce pears, lemon trees don't produce oranges. Plain talk is easiest to understand.
Paul said, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.Galatians 6:7
Jesus said, No man having put his hand to the plough, and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God. (Luke 9:62)
Peter said, For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of the righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered them. (2 Peter 2:20-21)
John says, He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifest that he might destory the works of the devil.(1 John 3:8)
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
Common Sense lived by simple financial policies.. (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable strategies, (adults, not children are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well - intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended for using mouth wash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves has failed to do discipling their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun tan lotion or a band-aid to a student... but couldn't inform parents when a student became pregnant.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commendments became contraband; Churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home... but the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promply awarded a huge settlement from a law suite.
Common Sense was proceeded in death by his parents, Truth & Trust: his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him pass this on. If not join the silent majority.... and do nothing. (Author Unknown) "This is something, I wish, I had written".
