1 John 5:4-5, For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith. 5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
The Message to overcomers of the seven churches in Revelations.
1. Ephesus: Revelation 2:7, He that hath an ear,let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches: To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life,which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Note: this Church was warned of their leaving their first love Christ, told to repent from where they had fallen from the grace of God. Repent or be removed from their place in Christ, that they possessed.
2. Smyrna: Revelation 2:11, He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Note:Jesus warned that this Church would be tried and put in prison, the devil would be real in his attacks toward them. Dealing with those from the synagogue of Satan claiming to be of God.
3. Pergamos:Revelation 2:17, He that hath an ear,let him hear what the Spirit said unto the Churches; To him the overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saying he that receiveth it.
Note: The doctrine of Balaam was allowed to be taught this caused Israel to stumble into fornication.Peramos allowed the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which things God hated to be taught "where Satan dwells". Pergamos was commanded to repent,overcoming requires the remission of sin.
4. Thyatira:Revelation 2:26-29, And he that overcometh and keepeth; my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the Nations: 27. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers; even as I received of my Father. 28. And I will give him the morning star.29. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.
Note: Because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. Thank God not all allowed this Jezebel usurping spirit to control them, they were overcomers.Here Jesus speaks of the depths of Satan some had received but other had not these are overcomers. Jesus also warned those that followed that Jezebel spirit would go into a great tribulation.
5. Sardis: Revelation 3:5-6,He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.
Note: Jesus knew their works, that they had a name of a Church, physically alive but they were dead spiritually. Jesus told them to hold fast and repent, for his coming would take some of them unaware like a thief.
6. Philadelphia: Revelation 3:12-13, Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, And he shall go no more out; And I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: And I will write upon him a new name. 13. He that hath an ear,let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.
Note: This is one solid Church, that had basicly overcome. Having the power to open and shut doors not denying the Name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
7. Laodiceans: Revelation 3:21-22, To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcome and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.
Note: This Church was told to be hot or cold in between was not exceptable. Jesus said, he would spit lukewarmest out of his mouth. Sad but this Church thought it was in good standing like much of today's Churches. Jesus describes this Church as being far from good standing, blind, nake, wretched and miserable.
Conclusion: Revelations 12:11, And they overcame him ( Satan ) by the blood of the lamb,and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
My Commitment:
I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Ghost power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His. I won't look back, let up , slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams; tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor by power.
My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal heaven. my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions are few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won't give up, shut up,let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go up till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till he stops me, and when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me --- my banner will be clear.
