This section is written in hopes of
giving new perspectives and ideas that will help us all to be better teachers and to help
us teach our children more often.

"We owe it to the past to use its gains
worthily and to advance from the point at which it left off.... We owe it to the future to
prepare a generation better than ourselves.... We owe it to the present to live, to live
with all expansion of heart and soul, all reaching out of our personality towards those
relations appointed to us."
~Charlotte Mason, English educator

You Are A Marvel
Pablo Casals
Each second we live is a new and unique moment of
the universe, a moment that will never be again&hellip And what do we teach our
children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of
France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them:
Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have
passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever
fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michaelangelo, a
Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow
up, can you harm another who is, like you, a marvel? We must all work and help to
make the world worthy of its children. |

The mediocre
teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great
teacher inspires.
