Hans Kaspar Schnewli
- GEN 7 - came to America in 1749 from Affoltern, Switzerland to Pennsylvania. Linkage to Casper is presumed but NOT confirmed.
- Was carpenter by trade. Had difficulties with authorities in Switzerland over church
matters. Left to escape religious persecution.
- Married Verena Blickensdorfer January 16, 1726 (she died shortly thereafter).
- Married Verena Dubs April 26, 1728 (died at sea)

- Brothers Henry and Conrad Schnebley emigrated from Germany to Lancaster County, Penna.
Henry was
killed by Indians in Penna. Conrad married Mary Elizabeth Black. She was a sister of
Casper Schwartz, and changed her name from Schwartz to Black. She was also a native of
Germany. Later they moved to Washington County
(at that time of part of Frederick County), Maryland and settled near where Keedysville
now stands. Land grants and deeds exist showing that at one time he owned about 8000 acres
between Keedysville and Rohrersville.
