Worthing Model Railway Club was formed in 1964 but was initially known as Shoreham & District Model Railway Club. As the club grew it was apparent that more and more of the members came from the Worthing area. It was decided then to move to larger premises in Worthing and the decision was taken, at the same time, to change the name to the present one - WORTHING MODEL RAILWAY CLUB.

Since that time the club has moved again to more suitable premises, of which we have exclusive use. This is vital to any club, a privilege that many clubs envy, as it means work carried out on club nights may be left undisturbed and, just as important, safely.

The club enjoys a good number of members, but we are always pleased to welcome new faces. The only qualification needed to join us is an interest in railways. You do not have to be an expert, or even have your own layout (you can use the ones at the club to run your stock), all you need is an interest in railways.

If you live in the Worthing or surrounding areas we would be pleased to see you. If you don't then you can still join as an associate member and be kept informed of what is happening.
