Northern California Events

Dear Members of the House of Boyd Society and new vistors:

As usual, you will find the House of Boyd Society Tent next to the Clan Stewart in America, Inc. tent. If I am not at the Boyd tent, you will probably find me next door at the Stewart's!

Please stop by and spend some time visiting with us.

Remember, the Boyd tent is your "home base" at the games! All Boyds and "Sept" Families are welcome at my tent. Bring your cooler and join us in a "pot luck".

We will have Boyd tee-shirts on hand ($20 adult/$15 child). Also, check out the photos we have of Dean and other Boyd Castles. We will be delighted to put you in contact with the photographers. I pestered them for two years to go photograph Dean Castle for the Boyds! They did it in 1997! Since that time, there have been many more Boyd Castles added to the collection. Sadly, one of our photographer friends, Susan Arnold of Serenery died in 2005. Her husband, Jim, who photographed Dean Castle for us, continues their wonderful work. [See my link to them on my main page.]

If you are attending any Highland Games and Gathering or Celtic Festival and do not see a House of Boyd Tent, look for the Clan Stewart in America or a Clan Cian tent. They will welcome you. If it is in California, CSSA may also have a sign in book and information on the House of Boyd Society. When I cannot attend a particular event or be in two places at once, we do try to send information with the Stewarts.
Also -- at those events that offer it, consider camping on the grounds. We encourage after hours gatherings. At the two day events we cook dinner on Friday night, hold a Ceilidh in the camp area on Saturday night, cook breakfast all weekend long and at other events, you may find us cooking dinner on whatever night we are there. Many from other clans have joined in on this Boyd tradition and enjoy our hospitality. I look forward to meeting all of you!
