The SHADOW Traffic network is a commercial service providing information on traffic flow and conditions, similar to Metro Traffic, to the motoring public through the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland area radio stations and also to Cellular-One subscribers. In cooperation with NCRI, SHADOW has placed a radio in its Washington studios on 462.675 with a PL of 91.5 (ZZ). The call sign "SHADOW" is assigned as their unit number.
In general, this radio will be monitored 24 hours a day and an operator may respond to calls involving a variety of situations such as emergencies relating to life or property, accidents, traffic lane blockages, or accepting information for SHADOW on incidents that have been resolved.
We look forward to working with SHADOW and to any efforts they make to help us help the motoring public of the metropolitan area. We have always believed that part of REACT's public service is to make the maximum use of any information we get by having it relayed to the public.
