- Five year old Jerry Ru's Senaquin Chief, call name 'Quin', now has his Canadian Breed Championship as well as his MH. He also has a fourth in Amateur All Age stake and a bunch of JAMs in Open and Amateur. Owner Ruth Beach has done the training herself and is going to get a CD on him this winter. (All these are in Canada) Quin is sired by Marilyn Fender's NFC(96) Storm's Riptide Star ("Rascal"). Congratulations Ruth!
- Jarrett turned in another beautiful performance, to finish his title and is now officially Can. Ch. Nightwind Start Your Engines JH, making him "titled at both ends!" Peggy is proud of this boy and what he has accomplished all before the age of two. Another "well-balanced" labrador, just what we like! <g Now on to Senior....... Congratulations Peggy Lands!!
- Another Lab titled at both ends in 2001!!! Lowood's Daydream Believer earned her Championship in June and earned her Companion Dog title this weekend in three straight shows! Congratulations Shannon Gage!
- "Desi" completed her Junior Hunter title on Oct 27. She is the daughter of our 1999 Dog of the Year. Congratulations Terry McFadden!
- In their first ever attempt at senior, Marcia Lucas and "Amelia" (SR Justes B Flying Solo JH) completed two back-to-back tests for their first two SH wings! Congratulations!
- A newcomer to hunt tests, Barbara Sampson and "Kobe" (Granites Jumpin Zach Kobe) earned their first two JH ribbons - congratulations Barb!
- 13-year-old Bobi Short handled her dog in Junior hunt tests and got qualifying scores that finished her dog's title. Bobi handled this dog for every pass of her title - congratulations!
- Weymouth's Autumn Dazzler, CD, WC, (Dazzle), with owner Sue Lazarchick, finished her CD with an extra leg in four straight days. She completed her first two legs at the Mid-Jersey Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. on October 18th and 19th, with a third and second place. (194 1/2 and 195). Dazzle also took some special prizes at Mid-Jersey, such as "
highest scoring bred by owner in Trial" on both days, and highest scoring yellow in Trial, on Friday. The next day she completed her third leg with a 190 1/2, and completed an "insurance leg" the day after with a 196! Congratulations Sue and Dazzle!
- "Tejas" earned both his Senior Hunter and Companion Dog Excellent titles this month. Tejas, aka Keemaka's Lone Star Flyer CDX SH, can now relax, enjoy the hunting season with handler/trainer Richard Harbin, and then gear up for more training and qualifying challenges in the spring. Congratulations Richard and Tejas!
- Piper, Bookner's Make a Joyful Noise, has earned three titles in the last two weeks! First her MX with a first place and 32 MACH points on October 13, then they went to the Labrador National Specialty and finisged a WC and the last leg for her CD! Also, Piper placed 2nd in the show she taped for Animal Planet last month...the show should air sometime after the first of the year, it's called "The Canine Superstar Challenge"! Managing to make it to the finals was a BIG accomplishment, they were one of only 6 dogs in the finals that wasn't a Border Collie and the only Sporting Dog! Will be fun to see what she looks like on t.v!! Congratulations Lori Lewis!
- Ch. Diamond`s Sid JH is now a senior hunter. Trained and shown by his owner, the dog did fine, handler had to be picked up off the ground. ~VBG~ Congratulations Gerry Cochran!
- SHR Wimberway's Watch For It, WC, JH, at just 21 months old, completed her CD title on Oct 28. "Sammy" is owned, trained, and handled by Beryl Proctor and took a
1st and a 4th en route to her CD title. Congratulations Beryl!
- Dunn's Marsh Legend In Her Own Time TD earned her WC at the National on and then placed 4th in Bred By Exhibitor at the National as well. Ali is the daughter of CH Honorbright Legend of DMarsh TD, JH, WC, CGC (1997 Dog of the Year) and owned and bred by Deb Hamele. Congratulations Deb!
- CH Sundance's Case Of Scotch, JH got his CH on April 27, finished his JH two weeks later on May 13 and JAMmed at the Atlanta specialty in Sept. He is owned by Debbie Darche Congratulations Debbie!
- The LRC, Inc is thrilled to announce that it conferred the
Helen Ginnell Memorial Trophy at its National Specialty. The trophy requires that the BOB winner at the National conformation show have a field title, either hunt test or field trial. Congratulations to Nancy Brandow and her chocolate male Ch Ruthless Blazing Brentley MH, CDX!!!
- Terri Clingerman's Labs had the "National of a Lifetime", when Danny (ChaseAbout's Shall We Dance JH, NA) earned his first SH leg and then finished his NA. Chase (OTCH U-UD Candlewoods Chase About UDX, JH, AX, AXJ, Can. CDX, TDI) placed 3rd in Open B & Utility B, was a member of the
first place obedience team, and earned his 4th MX leg in agility. Speed (Am/Can OTCH U-UD Candlewoods High Speed Chase UDX, JH, TD, AX, OAJ) passed the tracking test to earn his TD title, then won Utility B with 197.5 and Open B with 198,and was HIT/HC!!! WOW - what a week they had!! Congratulations Terri and the Boys!!
- Lucy, Augustus Sophisticated Copia CD,MX,AXJ,WC has had a great Fall! Lucy finished her OAJ on September 16th. Then finshed her AXJ on September 29th. Next it was our WC on October 17th and MX on October 21st at the
National Specialty! She also took a 4th in Novice B at the Nationals with a 195 and took High Scoring Bred By Exhibitor! The MX this past weekend has made it Lucy's 7th AKC title this year! Am/Can CH Augustus Thunder of Arrogance WC added a WC title onto the end of his registered name. On October 17th, Bubba also passed the WC, Augustus Bayou Cruiser WC as did Jackie, Wiscoy's Bluemoon on the Rise WC. Whew! Congratulations Mary Kobis!
- Carol and Ron Haggerty had a fine day in the field on October 19 by taking second place in the Qualifying stake with their dog Hustler, now known as Kwest's Hustler MH QAA - congratulations!
- We'll have another CH/MH soon, I'll bet! Int./Am Ch. GMHR Marit's Slippery Round the Bend, SH (Ch. Raintree Slippery When Wet, JH x MHR Yellow Rose of Marit, SH, CD) earned his second and third legs towards his AKC master title. Lisa DeSilva (breeder) was at the test where he got his second leg and says he and Wendy did an awesome job. Both Buddy and Wendy have come a long way and are truly working together as a team. Congratulations Wendy Rowan!
- Tugboat earned his TD, He is now UCD Sunyside Penobscot Tugboat Am/Can CD, TD, CGC. The track was more difficult in terms of terrain, then anything Gret ever did, but Tug just took it in stride. It was a lot of fun. Congratulations Gret and Tugboat!
- Concho (UCDX Winroc Geronimo Arncha Brave UD TD WC) got his sixth UDX leg October 14 and won second in both Open B and Utility B with a pair of 196's for
High Combined and High Scoring Lab - congratulations Beth Baily!
- Critter Creeks Simply Stella went two for two October 13 and 14 to finish her CD in two weekends. Stella will be running SH in the spring. She is owned by Meredith Kuhn - congratulations!
- "Otter" - Chillybleak's Going For Broke WC JH CGC got his first leg towards his AKC -CD title on October 14. He was handled by owner Gina Gross - congratulations!
- Waterspook Tomfoolery, JH obtained two legs on her SH title in two weekends. ( What a way to celebrate her 2nd birthday!) Way to go "Tommie" and Karen Waltman!
- Hannah finished her EJC-V October 7. She got
first both days in Elite Veterans Jumpers, a first and a second in Elite Veterans Gamblers, and two second places and a fourth place in Elite Veterans Regular - congratulations Janyne Kizer!
- On October 7 Cougar Mountains Ima Believer JH ("Bruiser") went BOW over 7 other Labs for his last 3 points to complete his Canadian CH and is now titled at both ends! He completed his JH in September at the PSLRA hunt test, frequently doing shows and hunt tests in the same weekend. Now in training for SH and being shown in Washington state. CONGRATULATIONS Bob Morris!!
- Not to be outdone by her brother Jarrett, "Lucy" finished her Can Ch. Friday. She went BOW and BOS to finish - completely owner handled and is Kris' very first show dog!! She is another "well balanced" Labrador with titles on *
both* ends and is now known as Can Ch. Nightwind's Lucy in the Sky, CD! Lucy is co-owned by Kris Altenbernd and Peggy Lands - congratulations! (ed note: here's an addendum to the story - I LOVE it! - Kris only entered *one* day of the four day cluster in Canada because she wanted to get back home and go duck hunting with Lucy which I am sure she enjoyed much more than the show ring...<vbeg She got quite the workout as the ducks were really flying from what Kris said...!)
- Hannah -- Cedarwoods Crosscreek Duet -- finished her UKC Agility Championship on September 9 where she also was the
High Scoring Lab and won High Combined - congratulations Janyne Kizer!
- Hamm and Beans did it! After completing his first two Junior Hunter passes in September while only 6 months old, Hammie Jammer at the tender age of 7 months made it 4 for 4 qualifying passes, finishing his JH title Oct 7. Hammie is now Stormy Creek Hamm of AM Star JH. While Hammie was doing it in the JH stake, his daddy Beans (Bigsky Autumn Shade of Edward MH CD WCX CC CGC) who turned 3 y.o. two months ago earned his
15th! Master Hunter ribbon in the Master stake. Both dogs are owned, trained and handled by Dave Shannon - congratulations!!
- Rescued Labrador Thorncliff's Skye's The Limit (Skye) earned her Started Hunting Retriever title on September 30. She went 4 for 4 in UKC Started Hunt Tests. She is now known as "U-CD, SHR Thorncliff's Skye's The Limit, CD, JH, CGC". Congratulations Sharon Mausing!
- "Cadie" ran in her very first two Flyball competitions and earned her Flyball Dog title!!!!! She is now known as Can. Ch. Nightwind Sweeter Than Sweet Can. CD, WC, FD. Cadie is co-owned by Sandy Madden and Peggy Lands!
- Tiderips Justa Lil Whirlwind WC (Lily) completed her International CH taking 2 BOB and a Group 1 along the way. Her mom, Can CH Bayviews Gusta Wind CDX JH went BISS at the PSLRA Specialty in August from the Veteran's class. Carole is very proud of her girls who are proof that Beauty and Brains do go together - congratulations Carole Jensen!
