This part
of my page is dedicated to my old friend, Muggs,
who walked
many miles with me in thirteen years.
Truly...
a once in a lifetime dog.
Hello! I'm Spanky!....and
I'm proof that God has a sense of humor!
And I'm Miss Daisy.... I'm
new here..... they adopted me from Boxer Rescue!!! Yippeeeeee!!
Those of us who are lucky enough to have been the recipient of their friendship understand that no other living creature on earth is as loving, forgiving, and devoted as a dog. With their love, they are capable of healing the unhealthy, tempering the angry, and consoling the mournful. Their forgiveness is without bounds, complete and genuine. When in our imperfect lives, we have been neglectful or hurtful of our friend, it is with complete and honest joy that we are forgiven our transgressions. Their devotion is unwavering, often displayed by feats of courage, that of which most of us can stand in awe. A dog is God's creature and man's best friend. We thank them for the joy that they bring to our lives and the many fond memories that they leave us upon their passing.
Cruelty to animals comes
in many forms..from indifference, neglect, and simply not giving love
and affection.....to outright violence, beating, starving, and
allowing exposure to the elements.......
Lacy's story....may
just touch your heart...
And for those of you who
have ever had the privilege of loving a pet....this poem
Please support your
local Humane Society.
There are countless animals out there....wanting to be loved and to give
love...who are euthanized every year because there is no room for them at
the shelters...and because there is no room in someone's heart and home
and life to take them in.
And remember.....please spay
and neuter!!!
If you are thinking of taking
a dog into your heart and home, please consider looking first at the Humane
Society. If your heart is set on a particular breed, there are Rescue Leagues
all over the United States that have abandoned, neglected and/or abused dogs
just waiting for someone to love.... Or if you might be interested
in helping with the rescue program, or fostering a dog. You can do a search
on the internet for a particular breed.
There is a Boxer Rescue network
throughout the United States...Just use a search engine to seek one out
near you. Or
you can get started here... by clicking the Boxers below.
Another good site for finding
a pet, is Pet Finders. Click below
Please think twice about
purchasing a dog at a pet shop, or at least investigate the pet shop's source,
before you purchase there, for many pet shops obtain their puppies from
puppy mills where conditions are unbelievably deplorable.
