My mother, Dorothy May (Schmitzer) Durbin/Breitenbach, had devoted 30 years of her life researching the Durbin family and was able to tie us to the first Durbin to come to America from England in 1663! When she died in 1990, my two brothers and I decided that I should compile and publish all her research, probably because I was the only brother who owned a computer at the time. To date I have typed over 22,000 biographies into the computer.

THE FOLLOWING SURNAMES, ALL CONNECTED TO DURBIN FAMILIES IN SOME WAY, APPEAR AT LEAST 30 TIMES IN MY GENEALOGICAL DATA (which means I have a lot more than just these names):

Arnold, Axe, Baxter, Berry, Blubaugh, Brand, Brown, Burgess, Burtle, Clark, Colopy, Connell, Crowe, Cunningham, Davis, Dial, Durben, Durbin, Ewing, Eyanson, Gatton, Grant, Harris, Hayden, Hill, Hunt, Johnson, Jones, Kelly, King, Kisselman, Kohl, Lamb, Law, Lhamon, Logsdon, Logue, Mattingly, McFarland, McKenzie, McKinney, McKinzie, Meeds, Miller, Moore, Morgan, Mudd, Murphy, Nagle, O'Brien, Painter, Payne, Phifer, Phillips, Pierce, Plopper, Porter, Ryan, Sapp, Schmitzer, Shafer, Skinner, Smith, Speace, Stephens, Stewart, Suess, Thompson, Townsend, Unser, Vancil, Waterman, Welch, White, Williams, Wilson, Young.
