Nelson Albert Bergh was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He was the son of Major Albert Bergh, a Civil War veteran, who was descended from Abram and Philip Bergh, veterans of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Rose M. Jareo Bergh, 76, of 308 Prospect street, widow of Nelson R. Bergh and a resident of this city all her life, died this morning at 9:25 in Mercy hospital, where she had been a patient since Tuesday.
Mrs. Bergh, who had been ill for years, was taken to the hospital Tuesday after she suffered a heart attack.
The body was removed to the Hart funeral home.
Surviving are her six children, Mrs Mary Dearstine Amond, Syracuse, born of her first marriage, and Mrs Wilbur H. (Margaret) Munk, Mrs. Lawrence (Peggy) Cummings, Mrs Louise J. Gardner, with whom she lived, Francis A. Bergh, Watertown, and Mrs. Clarence (Martha) Cousins, South Rutland, all born of her second marriage; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Michael J. (MITCHELL, not Michael) Jareo, William Jareo, and Francis Jareo, Watertown, and Samuel A Jareo, Watertown Center; and a sister, Mrs. Ernest (Mary) Duggan, Syracuse.
Mrs. Bergh was born in Watertown April 24, 1883, a daughter of Samuel and Martha Denny Jareo. She was married twice, first to a Mr. Dearstine. More than 50 years ago, following her first husband's death, she was married to Nelson Bergh of this city. He died here Sept 17, 1923.
