Ramea's Come Home Year 1999 - A Success!
Hi Folk's;
Well the Come Home year was in my humble opinion a huge success!
As soon as I can get some film developed I will post pictures of many of the activities that went on during the week.
I truly enjoyed the meals, people, friends and family, as well as the music of all the entertainers.
A special thanks to all the groups that made this possible, and especially the Ramea Volunteer Fire Department who gave up all their free time to make this a great success.
There were 4 songs submitted for the Come Home Year Activities and I am posting one here until I can get the words to the others.
This is by Stan McDonald and entitled, of course
Keeping Our Memories Alive
Ramea Island is a place
We all love dear
A home celebration is planned
to welcome you here
We have our troubles
But we can put them aside
We'll lay them to rest and we'll do our best
In Keeping Our Memories Alive
We are keeping our memories alive
With songs of laughter
The pains of disaster we'll hide
Times are hard, but somehow
I know we'll survive
If we all fight together, we can make
Things better, In Keeping Our Memories Alive
Remember the good times
We all shared long ago
When loseing our jobs
Was a fear we didn't know
How things have changed
Now we must fight to survive
If we can all act as one, we can get the job done
In Keeping Our Memories Alive
We are keeping our memories alive
With songs of laughter
The pains of disaster we'll hide
Times are hard, but somehow
I know we'll survive
If we all fight together, we can make
Things better, In Keeping Our Memories Alive
Just when we think everything is alright
Something goes wrong
And once more we have to fight
Come what may we never say die
With love in our hearts, we do our part
In Keeping Our Memories Alive
We are keeping our memories alive
With songs of laughter
The pains of disaster we'll hide
Times are hard, but somehow
I know we'll survive
If we all fight together, we can make
Things better, In Keeping Our Memories Alive

In support of Local Fire Protection a cassette tape of Local Musicians was produced.
The music is great and I shall attempt to see if the this can be obtained through mail order and post that info in the near furture.
Please drop back much more to come!
