Morgan born in Dirrellossery, nr Roundwood, Wicklow Ireland. His occupation said to be cattle Doctor.

Tried in Wicklow in April 1796, for stealing sheep, Morgan bought 26 sheep which had previously been stolen, and was unaware of this. The thief had disappeared, so Morgan was convicted and sentenced to death. This sentence was commuted to life transportation, with 7 years hard labour.

From Wicklow to gaol at Cork. Prisoners embarked Brittania 2 on 21/22 Nov 1796, the vessel sailed 10 Dec 1796. Ship's master was Thomas Dennot who was known to be a sadist. Brittania 2 arrived Port Jackson 27th May 1797.

First 3 years served at Govt Farm at Toongabbie. In 1800 was made overseer of the Govt. Cattle Farm.

Sept 1803 - Morgan convicted for purchasing 'slops' (clothing) from prisoners at "public labour" at Toongabbie. Sentenced to work at hard labour in the Battery gang at Georges Head. Battery was competed in Oct 1803.

Morgan selected Bridget Byrne from Female Factory at Parramatta. Married? about 1804.

1806 Muster prisoner - working with stock at Parramatta.

Petitioned Gov Macquarie for a pardon 26 Oct 1812

Conditional Pardon granted 31 Jan 1813
