The tour guide at Niagara Falls was showing a group of Texans the spectacular sight. "Do you have anything that big in Texas?" he asked one man. "No," he replied, "but we've got a plumber who can fix this leak in half an hour."

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl. I was born and raised in Wichita Falls, and when I married my Air Force love, we lived in several other locations in Texas and the states of Washington and Florida as well as Japan and the Philippines. Then we were sent to Alabama, fell in love with the state and the people and decided to retire here, but my heart has always been back in Texas. We were married 47 years and have a daughter, Kathy, a spoiled dachshund, Abby, a frisky little chihuahua, Cricket and Billy, the cat. Sadly, I lost my loving husband in August of 1998. Since Kathy has never married we have no grandchildren but have had many granddogs and grandcats. We are a family of animal lovers. My hobbies are playing bridge, decorating eggs, working on my homepage and corresponding with my email penpals.
