She was born July 04, 1874 in Charlesburg, Brotherstown Twp., Calumet County, Wisconsin, and died January 29, 1909 in Clayton, Wisconsin. He then married (2) ISABELLA BUSKA in 1910?
Notes for JAY J. ARNETT: Jay J. Arnett, was probably a German-Irishman, was possibly (email recieved from another researcher shows full name to be Jay James but is not documented as yet) born in Kansas? and lived in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He is thought by family to have had sister and a brother. Jay also lived at Port Stanley, Washington, and is buried there. He was an engineer, operating a power plant, and also worked on threshing machines. His father was supposedly a Quaker minister somewhere near Madison, Wisconsin.

Notes for JAMES ELWOOD ARNETT: Was given to the foster care of Louis and Maude Dulski of Galesburg, ND at the tender age of 7. He worked on a large farm. He attended Hanson Mechanic School in Fargo, ND and worked at the Pure Oil Co. in Northwood, ND. He and Anna had three children and moved to first Kent, and then Everett, WA during WWII. Both of them worked for Boeing Aircraft. Returning to Northwood, he managed large farms, drove 18-wheel trucks, and owned Arnett's Cafe. After retirement, he managed Mutchler Farms until well into his 70's.

Notes for ARVEY JOEL ARNETT: As a small child, Arvey always managed to find jobs - like selling popcorn and the Saturday Evening Post magazine on the street. He also cleaned people's basements, carried out five gallon slop pails and ran errands for Polly Thompson Hatlestad, who owned a beauty shop. Some Saturdays, Arvey and Doris delivered flyers, house to house, for Al Lubenow's Red Owl Grocery, for which they recieved 15 cents and three candy bars each. Doris recalled his very first funeral. Rev. Ringstad had given him a white poodle-mix dog who was deaf. She had some puppies who were given away to friends and neighbors. One, an adorable black and white male was given to the Marvin Hove's across the street from where they lived. One day, while 'Sally' was going to visit him, she was struck, hit and run, by a truck. She was buried on the side of the ditch, with flowers and ceremony.... Arvey was a great dancer and extremely popular with a wonderful personality. He particularly enjoyed Jitter-bug and Rock and Roll. After high school graduation in 1944, he joined the Navy. While in the service, he contracted Scarlet Fever and Rheumatic Fever and almost died.
After his discharge, he worked as a waiter, saved his money and went to school. He received his moritcian's license in 1948 at Worsham Mortuary School in Chicago, IL. He worked at Kyle Funeral Home in Northwood until 1953, when he bought the old parsonage of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. He remodeled it beautifully and established the Arnett Funeral Home. He was masterful at his profession and a wonderful comfort to the bereaved. He remained in business until retirement in 1987, when he sold the business to Jim Bilden. He also built apartments to rent economically to the elderly.
Notes for EVELYN HOEL:
Evy was the lovely, red-haired daughter of Ingebret and Mary Hoel of Abercrombie, ND. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing and was employed at Northwood Deaconess Hospital from 1946 to 1986. She was also Arvey's assistant at the funeral home and helped to make it a great success. Since her retiement, she volunteered much of her time, talents and energy to helping the elderly at the Northwood Nursing Home. They had no children.

5. ROSE ISABELL2 ARNETT (JAY J.1) was born November 23, 1905 in Devils Lake, North Dakota, and died January 14, 1986 in Phoenix, Arizona. She married CLIFFORD COLE 1927 in Mora, MN. b/d Unknown.
Notes for ROSE ISABELL ARNETT: Had foster parents. Went to the convent at age 14 to 18 at Helena, MT. While at foster homes, the Children's Home found her working in the fields, plowing, and took her back to Fargo, ND. She was fostered out at Belfield, Beach, and Grafton, ND. Isabella had tried to drown Rose.

Lorraine grew up in Northwood, ND and graduated from school there. During WWII, she worked at J.C. Penney at Kent, WA and for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, WA. She was, at other times, a farmwife, waitress, homebuilder (theirs) and oil painting artist.

She and Marvin farmed east of Northwood in Pleasant View Township, and
are members of Washington Lutheran Church.
