Amel and Dawson with Grandma Linda

Grandma Lins turn

Nearing the ripe old age of 50 I found out that I was going to become a grandmother. I felt that it was too young to become a grand ma and thought I wasn't ready yet. But Amel's path was chosen and on October 31, 1996 she was born (right in the middle of trick or treat). Thank God she was a perfect healthy little girl. At 7lbs. and 21"long I called her grandma's little pumpkin. Since that night life has changed for our family. Every thing we do now is done with baby in mind. For example a new costume for Halloween, presents for birthdays and Christmas etc. She celebrated her 1st birthday recently (already walking) and from the amount of presents she got we couldn't tell if it was a birthday or Christmas. Since our baby Stephanie is now 14 yrs. old and has put away her toys it's really fun to have a little one around again. She really enjoys being around grand ma, pap and Uncle Doug. Aunt Steffie is the apple of her eye. So as you can tell from the above, ready or not I am a grandmother and loving every minute of it.

Well it has been 5yrs since I have updated this page so you know things have been busy. Amel is about ready to go to school and a whole new chapter is opening up. I have finished with all my joint replacement operations and am feeling a lot better and my mobility is starting to return. It feels great to walk and do my daily routines without all the pain and stiffness. I am trying to live a healthy lifestyle and keeping active so that I can enjoy life as much as possible. Stephanie is 18 now and a beautiful young woman. She is becoming a fine and moral person, involved in her church she has a good start to a happy and productive life. She is a band member in her high school as well as a majorette. Needless to say she is a very busy person. Life is good.

Another 6yrs have passed and Dawson has joined the clan. He has had many a scary health crisis but has managed to get through them and is a very active five year old. Steffie is in her last year of college and has finished serving as an intern at KDKA TV. She is doing very well and we are all very proud of her.

I still think one of the best things about living in southwestern Pa. is the seasonal changes. In the spring we have the awakening, a rebirth of all new things. In the summer we enjoy long warm days sitting under our favorite lush green shade tree. In the fall even though it is very melancholy it is one of the most beautiful seasons of all when God showers us with the reds and golds of autumn. And last but not least nothing beats a walk in the winter with the sky full of snow and Jack Frost nipping at your nose. It is also our daughters favorite time of year. So good Lord willing if we move to Folrida when we retire, the changing seasons will be one thing that will be greatly missed.
I decided to make an animation of the seasons to remind me of the things that give me such enjoyment throughout the year. I also did a digital drawing of Stephanie when she was two.
