ROOMS OF OUR LIVES

WHAT ROOM ARE YOU IN OR STUCK IN TODAY?

I. ROOM OF RECEIVING CHRIST INTO OUR LIVES

(Luke 2:7 KJV) And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

A. Room at the end represents the room in a lot of peoples lives where they won't let Jesus in to their lives. The room of decision.

1. Man many times never has time for the Lord, he always wants to put it off till some convenient time like Felix in the Bible.

(Acts 24:23 KJV) And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

(Acts 24:24 KJV) And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

(Acts 24:25 KJV) And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

a. Man reasons away Christ in his life, he reasoned like Felix that some day.

2. The Bible says that now is the accepted time now is the day of Salvation (2 Corn. 6:2).

3. Many people think they have all the time in the world to make up there minds but you have no promise of tomorrow and your life can be over in the flash of a moment, then where will you find yourself.

(James 4:13 KJV) Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

(James 4:14 KJV) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

(James 4:15 KJV) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

(James 4:16 KJV) But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

(James 4:17 KJV) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

4. Maybe your trying to be good enough to come to Christ?

a. You can't be good enough to come to Christ, that is why Jesus came to cover all mankind's sins, to become the supreme sacrifice.

b. Man can never be good enough on his own, remember Christ died for you while we were yet sinners.

(Rom 5:8 KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

c. The bible says we are all sinners, and that we need a savior to redeem us from our sins. If we remain in our sins and reject Jesus Christ we will die in our sins and be lost for eternity.

(John 3:16 KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:36 KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

5. Maybe the Devil has just hardened your heart and you don't want to come to Christ?

(2 Cor 4:3 KJV) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

(2 Cor 4:4 KJV) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

(2 Cor 4:5 KJV) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

(2 Cor 4:6 KJV) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

a. The devil is the god of this world as the bible says, the prince of the air, he rules this earth down here thats why it is such bad shape. But he wants your soul so he can drag it down to hell with him.

6. Maybe your in that room of decision today, and the Lord is saying let me come in and you don't

know if you want to do that or not.

(Rev 3:20 KJV) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

a. Jesus is calling all man kind today to just open their door to the room of decision they are in and let the Lord Jesus Christ come in and change you and make you a new creature in Christ, a child of God.

b. Gods children inherit the Kingdom of God and become heirs with Christ.

II. ROOM OF EXCUSES (Another room that keeps man from coming to Christ and serving Him they way that we know we should.

A. Then there is a room that man likes to hide from the Lord and make excuses why he can't come to him or serve him the room of excuses. This room requires serving God, and coming to him selling our all the way.

(Luke 14:16 KJV) Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

(Luke 14:17 KJV) And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

(Luke 14:18 KJV) And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

(Luke 14:19 KJV) And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

(Luke 14:20 KJV) And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

(Luke 14:21 KJV) So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

(Luke 14:22 KJV) And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

(Luke 14:23 KJV) And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

(Luke 14:24 KJV) For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

(Luke 14:25 KJV) And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

(Luke 14:26 KJV) If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

(Luke 14:27 KJV) And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

a. Room of the Lord that he has prepared for everyone that will come to him, but people always have excuses why they can't come and therefore he has room and can't find people to fill it. I would like to call this the room of excuses. Man always seems to have a excuse why he can't be faithful to God.

b. We need to realize that if we never have time to come to Jesus and serve Jesus than we can't be His disciples and will not be allowed into the great marriage supper of the lamb or heaven.

III. THEN THEIR IS THE ROOM OF GREED THAT KEEPS MANKIND FROM COMING TO CHRIST.

A. This is a room where mankind is caught up in the riches of this world and they choke out the word of God in their lives.

(Mat 13:22 KJV) He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

a. Rich Young ruler a good example.

(Luke 12:16 KJV) And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

(Luke 12:17 KJV) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

(Luke 12:18 KJV) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

(Luke 12:19 KJV) And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

(Luke 12:20 KJV) But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

(Luke 12:21 KJV) So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

b. Work work work, we always work as much as it takes to gain the treasures of this world, but when it comes to God and working for the kingdom, how much do you work for the treasures of heaven?

c. Let me ask you if you were being paid by the hour by God for the work you do for Him would you make enough to put food on your table or cloths on your back. Some people would probably have a hard time buying a coke or hamburger with the money they would earn.

IV. ROOM OF BLESSING OR A CURSE.

A. Room mentioned in Mal. about not enough room to store the blessings of God.

(Mal 3:10 KJV) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

a. Is your room full or empty, is it blessed or cursed?

(Luke 6:38 KJV) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

b. Some people if God gave to you the way you give to Him would be in bad shape, and probable are.

1. Well I have a job and everything is great, but when God said he would bless you for your giving didn't just mean with money, it comes in healing, peace in you family, spiritual battles, gifts of the Spirit, you know heavenly blessings not the mammon of this world.

2. Yes he does take care of our physical needs but that is secondary to our spiritual needs, which is far more important, our problem is we are materialistically minded so we miss the spiritual blessings of God and hang on to our money because we are to selfish to give it to God.

c. As we obey the Lord in our giving it releases his hand in our lives to take care of us and he even promises to protect us if we trust him with what we have and are not selfish.

(Mal 3:11 KJV) And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

d. But many Christians get trapped in this room because they have a hard time trusting God and overcoming the flesh.

e. Until we can come into this room with joy and be a cheerful giver we will not experience the rich blessings of God in our life like we could.

V. ROOM OF INPOWERMENT

A. Room of inpowerment the upper room where the Holy Ghost was found and where he is found today a room of separation from the world, a room of prayer and seeking, A room of doing the will of God.

(Acts 1:13 KJV) And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

(Acts 1:14 KJV) These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

a. When we move into this room we can find supernatural power to live for Christ and to move out of the room of excuses, out of the room of selfishness, out of the room of greed.

(Acts 2:1 KJV) And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

(Acts 2:2 KJV) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

(Acts 2:3 KJV) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

(Acts 2:4 KJV) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

b. Because they moved into the upper room where God could pour out his spirit on them they were filled with the power to become witnesses and to do Gods will.

VI. ROOM OF THE UNLEARNED.

A. Within the church even in the midst of God moving there is people that are unlearned usually because they choose to be. They only want enough of God to make them fill comfortable because they know if they move in close to God and learn of his spiritual things they will have to live the life and they don't want to. This room of the unlearned, a place where people have a lot of head knowledge but never come to the full understanding of God. They stay away just far enough that they never learn.

(1 Cor 14:16 KJV) Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

(1 Cor 14:23 KJV) If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

(2 Tim 3:1 KJV) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

(2 Tim 3:2 KJV) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

(2 Tim 3:3 KJV) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

(2 Tim 3:4 KJV) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

(2 Tim 3:5 KJV) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

(2 Tim 3:6 KJV) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

(2 Tim 3:7 KJV) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

a. There is a difference between being unlearned and being an unbeliever.

b. God said to desire the milk of the word and to mature so we could eat the meat of the word.

(1 Pet 2:2 KJV) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

c. He doesn't want us to be unlearned but having understanding, moving into that knowledge and always going forward deeper and deeper in God, not as shallow as we can go.

VII. ROOM PREPARED FOR ME.

A. Room in Heaven prepared for all of his children the mansions prepared for us.

(John 14:2 KJV) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

a. We have a promise that if we love God and serve him and walk in his ways he has prepared for us a mansion "room" in heaven.

(Rev 21:10 KJV) And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

(Rev 21:11 KJV) Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

(Rev 21:12 KJV) And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

(Rev 21:13 KJV) On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

(Rev 21:14 KJV) And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

(Rev 21:18 KJV) And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

(Rev 21:21 KJV) And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

(Rev 21:22 KJV) And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

(Rev 21:23 KJV) And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

a. To make it into this room you must be good and faithful in the things of the Lord, but if you are you will be rewarded and be able to enter in to this glorious room prepared for His children.

(Mat 25:19 KJV) After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

(Mat 25:20 KJV) And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

(Mat 25:21 KJV) His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

(Mat 25:22 KJV) He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

(Mat 25:23 KJV) His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

b. To be able to move into this room you have to move out of the room of decision and be saved because John 3:3 says Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

c. You must give up everything and serve Christ, be a good servant with what he has given you as Mat 25 showed us.

Conclusion:

Are you in the room of:

Decision, Excuses, Greed, Blessing or Curse, Inpowerment, Unlearned, or are you ready for the room prepared for you in heaven.

Its your choice we all go through these rooms but what decisions have you made to move out of or be victorious in these rooms?
