THE MANNING FAMILY

	Michael N. Manning, was b. ca. 1805 in North Carolina and died 28 December 1867 and is believed to have been buried in Mobley Cem. in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.  He married Elizabeth Watson on 18 December 1824 in Green Co., Georgia.

	2. John Manning, b. ca. 1829 in Troop Co., Georgia.
	3. Mary C. Manning, b. ca. 1833 in Troop Co., Georgia.
	4. George W. Manning, b. 16 September 1836 in Ga and married 		Elizabeth Strahan.
	5. William Jeter Manning, b. 18 May 1839 in Troop Co., Ga; 		died 1 October 1917 in Waterloo, New Mexico; married 		Susan E. Crews on 25 December 1873 in Coryell Co., Tx.; 		Co. G., 12th Regiment Tx. Volunteers.
	6. Michael N. Manning, Jr., b. ca. 1842 in Randolph Co., 		Alabama; 	died 1914 in Houston, Harris Co., Tx. and is 		buried in Houston, Tx.  He married Luticia Christian on 		12 September 1867 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.; Co. G., 12th 		Regiment Tx. Volunteers.
	7. Robert S. M. Manning, b. ca. 1848 in Alabama; Married 		Mary Jane Simpson on 13 January 1870 in Nacogdoches 		Co., Tx.; Co. G., 8th Tx. Infantry, Wall's Brigade.

	George W. Manning, son of Elizabeth Watson and Michael N. Manning, was b. 16 September 1836 in Georgia and died 7 October 1916 and is buried in Libby Cem. in Nacogdoches Co.  He married Elizabeth Strahan on 19 January 1871 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.
	Elizabeth Strahan, daughter of Emily Muckleroy and David W. Strahan, was b. 9 September 1855 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. and died in 1887 in Nacogdoches Co., and is buried in Mobley Cem..
	George then married Mrs. Mattie Deyon, widow of Phillip Deyon, on 11 November 1888 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.

	Children of Elizabeth and George were all b. in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.

	1. E.E. Manning, b. ca. 1873 and died 1877.
     2. Mary J. Manning, b. 1875 and died 1885.
     3. Roberts S. Manning, b. 1871 and died 1887.
     4. George M. "Mike" Manning, b. 20 December 1877 and married 		Minnie Burnaman.
	5. Fronie Manning, b. 19 January 1878, married Sam A. Mills.
	6. Mattie C. Manning, b. 22 March 1882 and died 30 March 		1958 and married Robert L. Knox.
	7. Susie Manning, b. 24 August 1884 and married Henry 			Rambin.
	8. A.L. Manning, b. and died 1887.
	9. Sarah B. Manning, b. ca. 1880 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.

	4. George M. "Mike" Manning, son of Elizabeth Strahan and George W. Manning, was b. 20 December 1877 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. and married Minnie Burnaman.
    Mike was killed by his brother-in-law, Sam Burnaman, on 27 May 1912 after an argument over some land.  He is buried in Shady Grove Cem..
    Mike and Minnie had three children all b. in Nacogdoches Co. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World.

	1. James A. Manning, b. 15 March 1900 and died 10 January 		1919.

	Fronie Manning, daughter of Elizabeth Strahan and George W, Manning, was b. 19 January 1878 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. and died 19 August 1951 and is buried in Libby Cem. in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.
    Fronnie married Sam A. Mills, b. 6 January 1876 and died 3 November 1940 and is also buried in Libby Cem..  Sam was the son of Fanny Nunley and Matthew Mills.

     5. Zeratha T. Mills, who married Dave Lee Tucker, who was b. 		28 December 1906 and died 13 August 1967 and is buried 		in the Shady Grove Cem.  Dave and Zeratha Theresa Mills 		were married 5 September 1925.  Dave was the son of 		Mattie Gray and Dave A. Lee.

	Robert S. M. Manning, son of Elizabeth Watson and Michael N. Manning, was b. ca. 1848 in Alabama.  He married Mary Jane Simpson on 13 January 1870 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.  Robert Served in Co. G., 8th Tx. Infantry, Wall's Brigade; enlisting in March of 1864.
