Here are some different things you could do with your children

 

Have you ever heard that "great age old cry" from your child "I'M BORED".

They may have the toys they want, a big backyard and a park down the street, but still they run out of ideas. With a phone call or tow, you can arrange field trips to both entertain and educate your children. They can visit local attrations, working businesses & emergency providers. You could even take along your child's playgroup for a fun day out.

 

Well here are some ideas for to places to consider visiting.

Fire Stations:

Many children are thrilled to see firefighting equipment up close. Most fire stations will accomadate children visiting, A fire officer may talk to the children about fire saftey and what they can do if ever caught in a fire.

 

Police Stations

Like fire stations, many police stations welcome children. Most stations will let children to see the inside of a police car and other things common in a police station. The police officers will talk to children about personal saftey, i.e. Stranger Danger, places they can go to if they feel they are in danger.

 

Arts & Craft Stores

Some arts & craft stores offer classes for children, and some stores are especially designed for you to create something. For a small fee per child, children can can create their own special momento of the day out.

 

Businesses

Some interesting places to see are Newspaper offices, Television studios, Bakeries, Radio Stations or Manufacturing facilities. Manufacturing facilities may limit children's visit because of age, but they are especially interesting to children. Most children are used to seeing whole items in their home, and don't think much about how the item is produced.

 

Libraries

Introduce your children to the joys of reading through progarms at the library. Call or visit your local library to find out times of Story hours & library-sponsored family or children's events. Some of these may incur a small fee per child.

 

Attrations

Don't forget about attractions in your area. Treat your hometown as though you were a tourist. Buy a tour guide and map of your area and see all the things your area has to offer visitors. Don't forget Zoo's or petting zoos, parks, historical sites & musuems. Consider all kinds of musuems. Children will glean something out of even aduld-orientated exhibits, particulary with you as their tour guide.

 

Whaterver you choose to do, remember that the important thing is that you are spending time with your children. With that in mind, pick a location, set a date and enjoy your day out together!!!!!
