Lofton Fairchild was born about 1785 in South Carolina. He died 1826 in Pike Co. MS.

Lofton married 17 May, 1810 in Wayne Co. GA., to Mary Ann Grantham. Mary Ann daughter of John and Mary Ann Grantham.

It appears from what records found that Lofton and Mary Ann both died fairly young. I do not have a complete list of their children. Since they married in 1810 and the first child I found listed was in 1816, six years after their marriages is unusual. Without the first children died young.

1. Ammodita Fairchild, born about 1816 in GA. and died before November, 1859 in Hinds Co. MS. She married James C. Hughes born about 1810 Hinds Co.

2. Elbert Leander Fairchild, born 9 March, 1818 Pike Co. MS., and died 17 July, 1874 in Hazelhurst, Copiah Co. MS. He married Ferbia Ann Screws born March 1828 MS. and died 17 April, 1907 Gainesville, TX. Daughter of Allen and Elizabeth Roberts Screws.

3. William Leroy Fairchild born 21 May, 1819 Pike Co. MS., and died 17 July, 1859 in Utica, MS. He is buried in Utica cemetery. William L married 26 August, 1856 in Hinds Co. MS., to Mary Jane Moody born 23 March, 1835 MS.

4. James Richard Fairchild born 25 July, 1824 in Pike Co. MS. and died 13 June, 1863 in Vicksburg, MS. He married 23 January, 1849 in Hinds Co. MS., to Harriet Screws.

5. Mary Ann Fairchild born about 1825 Pike Co. MS., She married Solomon L. Fatheree, born about 1822 MS. They had at least two children and lived in Copiah Co. MS. in the 1840's where their children were born.
