Prologue to Gone With the Wind
This is my tribute to Margaret Mitchell's novel and the resulting movie , Gone With the Wind. It is by far my favorite movie and I plan to have many things on this page. I have loved Gone With the Wind for as long as I can remember, in fact, it was the first movie my family rented when we got our first VCR (after much begging and pleading on my part). I sometimes think I would have liked to live in the pre-civil war days when your biggest concern was what to wear to the next ball or barbecue. It's a lovely dream and everyone should be allowed to dream once in awhil!. I had the very good fortune to live in Charleston, South Carolina for five years. While there, I visited the plantations and downtown historical Charleston and it was easy to imagine ladies in beautiful hoop dresses and men in their finest on horse back. You can still take horse drawn carriage rides through the cobblestone streets and visit the Provost Dungeon where the staff is dressed in authentic costumes.
