Iceland, the land of fire and ice. The name brings forth frigid images to your mind but Iceland is amazingly beautiful. I have only seen a small portion of the island so far but I am completely in awe of the rugged beauty of this land. There are so many contrasts, from the black sand beaches to the snow covered glaciers, the soft green valleys to the sparkling blue waters of the north Atlantic. It is truly a sight you must see to appreciate. We have visited a couple of the waterfalls and one of the glaciers and friends of ours have visited some other places on the island.
