I didn't know my grandfather Earnest, but I would have liked too. Once when I was a teenager he did come to our house. I was impressed that at the age of 69 he still had a full thick head of dark hair. He came to visit my Dad, but he was at work. There was bad blood between Dad and Grandfather Knight and they had not seen each other for many years. My Dad didn't return the visit. In later years they did make their peace with each other but they never did see each other again. I would have liked to have gotten to know him a little at that visit but I don't remember him paying much attention to me. I can tell a you little about him in his younger days as was related to me by Dad. He was raised in the Martha area of Cabell Co WV. After he married Cynthia, they at one time lived in the west end of Huntington. Later they lived on a ridge at the head of Cyrus Creek and Goose Creek. I believe this is where they lived when their son Howard was killed by a train at Barboursville. Grandfather Knight and my dad worked together as plumbers and he was a foreman at the fairgrounds at Barboursville. Dad said he was a Sheriff or Deputy at one time. These are things I remember my Dad saying over the years. Grandfather was married three times. His second wife was Alta Chapman and his third was Clara Creech .Info on these families will be further down the page. At some time in the future I would like to add a note from the children from each of these other two families. Ed Knight
