Dad and two of his friends were walking down Fudge's Creek RD. one day. Up ahead came three young teenage girls. Dad and his friends decided to have some fun. The all agreed to throw ther arms around the girl that they were walking toward and swing them around. Mom and Dad were later married.
This being in the Depression, times, work and money were short, their first home was in a new chicken house which Dad's uncle Flynn had just built. I guess the chickens got to live in it later. They next lived on a point of a hill overlooking Little Fudge's Ck. behind Antioch Baptist Church. Mom said this was here favorite home, she loved the location and the view. The old well is still there.
Mom was a housewife, Dad worked at many jobs in his younger days. He was a plumber, road builder with the WPA. During hard times he cut brush for a dollar a day.
Later he worked and retired with the C&O Railroad in Huntington Shops as a Carman and Carman helper.
In Dad's younger days he was a drinker, he liked his booze.
About 1950 he gave his life and heart to Jesus Christ his Lord. He later became a Sunday School teacher.
Dad was a BIG story teller, no matter what you were talking about Dad would come up with a little biger tale.
Dad died on 9-17-1994, he is missed very much.
Mom died 3-6-2001. we miss mom as well.
