Stuff we made in 2006
Well as most of you know, the making of things never stops around the Morton's!
Here are just a few or our creations.....
Pillow cases for a wedding present, Grace'w quilt is FINALLY finished and we fashion some pretty fun birthday presents for the girls friends. Last year it was purses and this year we've moved to broomstick skirts. The kids hav efun picking the colors and fabrics and Gretchen sews like mad. Ingrid even did some machine sewing this year and is becoming quite the knitter. Grace has tried her hand at knitting, but has a ways to go yet! | |
Here is a quilt that Gretchen made for Sarah Aasby's HS graduatioin present. Sarah picked the colorful materials and Gretchen designed the pattern based on a traditional log cabin pineapple design. She won a blue ribbon for it at the Rensselaer County fair before sending it on to Missouri. |

Here are the girls in
their St. Patricks Day dresses. Gretchen made 22 of these bell adorned hats for Grace's class. They were quite the loud bunch the day before Christmas break. Here is the Troy Fiber Arts Group quilt. Gretchen designed it with lots of input from the group. It was dedicated by the mayor and has been on display all over the place this Fall. It is currently at the Rensselaer County Historical Society and destined to move to an RPI location in early January. Each block has a picture of a historical building in Troy and was then embellished by various artists using the technique of their choosing. It was a two year effort of the group. |

And, here is one of
David's creations. A LARGE wood pile! Anyone wanting large pine for their outdoor wood stoves - come and get it. This is the ongoing project to divest ourselves of a big mess created when the lot was cleared for our septic system. This doesn't even begin to be the end of it...... We really need to take more pictures of his stuff. He has made beautiful shelves, end tables doors and such for the house. He is getting the reputation with the girls of being able to build just about anything. |
