This page is dedicated to the descendants of William Barlow, who moved to Clinch County, Georgia from Montgomery County, Georgia in 1870. His father, a native of Robeson County, North Carolina, had migrated to Georgia in the 1840s along with many of his neighbors. As a member of the Barlow family by marriage, I have had a chance to research their roots and observe their lives for the past forty-two years. God-fearing, strong-willed and opinionated, they have impressed me with their belief in the old-fashioned virtues like honesty, hard work, devotion to family, and generosity to others less fortunate than they. I count it a privilege to be a Barlow in name, if not by blood.
