Kelsey's Birth Story

Just born baby Kelsey!

Mommy's pregnancy with Kelsey was easy and uneventfull for the most part. She did develop gestational diabetes in the third trimester, however, and was sent for an ultrasound at 37 weeks to make sure Kelsey was doing OK and not getting to big! On the ultrasound it showed that the fluid around Kelsey was getting low. After a week with no improvement the doctors decided to induce Mommy's labor and get Kelsey out. Well, Kelsey didn't want to come out! Mommy had to be induced 2x and have her water broken before labor started to get going.
Mommy labored all throught the night but seemed to be stuck at 5cm dialation. She and Daddy were getting very tired and were beginning to think that Kelsey was never going to come! After 36hrs of labor the doctors told Mommy that she would have to have a c-section. It would take place in about 4 hours. Mommy says Kelsey heard them and said "I guess I better come out now!" because 2 1/2 hours later those very surprised doctors told Mommy she could start pushing!
After 35 minutes of pushing, Kelsey Patricia entered the world (finally! :)). She weighed 6lb 1oz and was 19 inches long. She had a low apgar at first (4) but recovered with oxygen and was fine! As you can see she was a beautifull baby!
Mommy and Daddy were so happy! We could hardly believe that we had our family at last :)

Hope deffered makes the heart sick;
but when dreams come true at last,
there is life and joy. (proverbs 13:12)
