THE STORY OF
N
EWSIES
Here's the true story of a courageous group of newsboys who become unlikely heroes when they team up to fight an unscrupulous newspaper tycoon. Determined to make their dreams come true, they find the courage to challenge the powerful!

Newsies is the story of the Newsies of New York. Based in 1899, Joseph Pulitzer raises the price of the newspapers for the Newsies, but not the customers. Jack Kelly starts a strike with much help from his friends David Jacobs, Les Jacobs, Medda Larkson, and the rest of the Newsies. Jack bands together with his longtime friend and rival Spot Conlin of Brooklyn to strengthen the strike. Brian Denton is the newspaper reporter for "The Sun" who follows the strike and eventually helps Jack and David win the strike. All the while, Snyder, the refuge (juvenile jail) "manager", and the police are chasing Jack. Jack and his friends eventually win the strike and of course, Jack gets the girl, David's sister.

Newsies is critically acclaimed from coast to coast for it's brilliant music and choreography. It features music from the Academy Award-winning composer of Beauty and the Beast! But don't take my word for it, see the movie for yourself!
