RECAP: Lucky and Liz were celebrating the fact that Liz's rapist Tony has pleaded guilty and she is free. Lucky took Liz for a ride down the river on SKI BOB which is pulled by a boat!

Lucky and Liz kept down the river for a good twenty minutes before they got back into the boat. Though both were dripping wet, they were laughing into the sun.
Liz: Oh, Lucky! I have never had so much fun before!! I am sorry if I made you deaf with all of that screaming I did. But it felt soooo Good to scream!! Especially screaming while having fun!
Lucky: Kind of like screaming and letting your hands go on the roller coaster. Well, apparently I can still hear fine. Any damage you did with those screaming, it wasn't big. ( he grinned and looked at Liz)
Liz: ( laughed) I am glad to hear that! SO now what? Do we have to turn around now?
Lucky: No. We are not done yet.
Liz: Good! I was just........( stopped as her gaze focused somewhere out on the river) Lucky!! Oh, my god! That dog......that dog....that dog is walking on top of the water!!
Lucky: ( grinned mischievously ) Really? Well, isn't that interesting.
Liz: Why aren't you surprised......oh, my god! And those people! Those people are walking in water! They are playing volleyball in the middle of a river!! Lucky!
Lucky: Wanna try it?
Liz: Try it??
The boat slowly came to a stop, Liz still couldn't take her eyes off the people that were playing and walking in the middle of the river. Lucky still had the mischievous smile on his face all the while he was watching Liz's big eyes filled with disbelieve. He walked over to Liz, held out his hand to Liz. Liz looked at him, took his hand, and let him lead her off the boat. She tentatively put one foot in the water and amazingly found herself hitting the ground with the water right beneath her knee. She looked up at Lucky, saw his encouraging smile, she put her other foot into the water and all of a sudden found herself standing in the river. Lucky started taking her away from the boat.
Liz: Lucky, what is this place? How can we be standing in the middle of the river? I know the Spencers know some powerful people....but surely not this powerful that you can fill the river!!
Lucky: ( laughed) Well, we do have friends in high places, and some in low places come to think of it. But this has nothing to do with any of them. The river comes down from the mountain bring a lot of dirt and rock and other things with it. Once it comes to a point where the river widened, the velocity slows down, all those stuff the river brings settle down. After all these years, this, is the result. It's the flats.
Liz: So this is all natural? That's amazing!!
Lucky: Isn't it? Mother nature is truly incredible!
Liz: How did you discover this place?
Lucky: Oh, I wouldn't go that far. I didn't discover the place. It's here way before I was born, and probably will be here way after I died. We used to come here just to get away for a day. You know. No one here knows who we are, everyone just comes here to enjoy the sun, the water, the view.....and whatever else they come here for.
Liz: May I assume this is the surprise you were talking about? This place?
Lucky: Yes. I thought you might...... you know, get a kick out of it.
Liz: Oh, I love it! This is just......breathtaking! The mountains, the forest, the water, the sun....and standing in the middle of a river!! Lucky, this is the most wonderful place I have ever been to!
Lucky: That's good.......I have never taken anyone here before.
Liz: ( looked up at Lucky ) Lucky, that's so sweet......I am really honored.
Liz stood up on her toes and kissed Lucky on his cheek with one hand on his other cheek, she lingered a little longer than necessary, finally pulled away, and turned around to watch the people and dogs. Lucky was a little stunned. He lifted his hand slowly to touch his cheek where Liz just kissed, and his lips tilted up into the faintest sign of a smile, and it finally went completely upwards into a full grin.
They spent the rest of the day on the flats, jumping in the water, playing volleyball, chasing each other laughingly, talking about stories from their childhood, talking about all the stupid things they have done. By the time the sun was ready to set, they had got back into the boat, each wrapped in a towel. They sat closely, side by side, completely drawn to the mixing colors of gold, purple, red, orange of the sunset. Lucky turned to look at Liz, turned back to look at the sunset. Liz turned to look at Lucky, turned back to look at the sunset. Once a while their eyes met when they were looking at the other, they exchanged a smile, and turned their eyes back to the setting sun. Liz slowly pulled her legs up on the chair, wrapped her arms around them, and leaned on Lucky's shoulder. Lucky blinked a few times, swallowed hard, slowly put his arm around Liz. They never looked at each other. As the sun went down, their heads got closer. Lucky turned slightly and kissed Liz's forehead gently. Liz looked up at Lucky and smiled when he did that. Their gaze locked. Lucky felt his heart pounding inside of his chest, and was fear that they may just jumped out of his body anytime. Liz chewed on her lips lightly, looked down for a moment, and looked back up at Lucky. Her pulse must have been going like a thousand times a minute, she thought. Lucky licked his lips, his mouth opened slightly, he lifted his hand to brush away a string of hair off Liz's face, like he has done so many times before, but his hand was shaking this time. Liz's eyes followed his hand, she closed her eyes at his touch. She opened her eyes a moment later, looked into Lucky's eyes, saw that his ocean blue eyes were asking her, waiting for her. She smiled with her eyes. At that moment, Lucky's mouth was on hers. At first gently, he waited a few second, and nibbled on her lips. She could hear him taking in a deep breath as she pulled him down toward her a little. She suddenly felt the need to know his lips. There was doubt at first, but then it went away completely. They felt the heartbeats, they tasted the sweetness, and they didn't want to stop. Their heads were spinning so fast as the kiss went on. They couldn't remember who pulled away first, but their lips stayed inch apart while their eyes remained closed. They opened their eyes slowly.
Liz: I......think we missed the sunset.
Lucky: That's OK. There will always be more.
Liz: But it won't be the same sunset.
Lucky: You are right. I will never look at a sunset the same way ever now.
Liz: Lucky?
Lucky: Yeah?
Liz: I've wanted to kiss you a hundred times.
Lucky:( smiled ) Wasn't that my line?
Liz: I am borrowing it. I thought you ought to know what I was thinking.
Lucky: Well, I am glad you let me know. Because I am going to make it all up for all those times you've wanted to kiss me. Plus all those times I've wanted to kiss you.
Liz: ( smiled ) Promises, promises.
Lucky: Well, I've been known to keep my promises. Don't you know that?
With that, he dipped his head, and met her once again in heaven.

"show me heaven" by Robin Zander & Maria Mckee

There you go
Flashing fever from your eyes
Hey, baby come over here and shut them tight

I am not denying
We're flying above it all
Hold my hand don't let me fall
You've such amazing grace
I've never felt this way

Oh, show me heaven, cover me
Leave me breathless
Show me heaven please

Here I go
I'm shaking just like the breeze
Hey, baby I need your hand to steady me

I'm not denying
I'm frightened as much as you
Though I'm barely touching you
I've shivers down my spine
And it feels so fine

Oh, show me heaven, cover me
Leave me breathless
Show me heaven please

If you know what it's like to dream a dream
Baby hold me tight and let this be

Oh, show me heaven, cover me
Leave me breathless
Oh, show me heaven please.....
