Introduction
Kobold Pictures was a group of five Brazilian teenaged friends who used to make short amateur films in video for fun during the transition years from the '80s to the '90s.
We used to call them Quick Movies, not only because they were short, but mainly because they were quickly shot. Typically, there was no screenplay, but only some drafts in our minds. Many of the ideas were born while shooting. The shooting itself would take no more than some hours during an afternoon or a night. And of course there was no budget.
Unfortunately, Brazil was not the best place in the world to make a living out of filmmaking - still not be - specially if you have serious doubts about your own talent. That's why each one of us went doing something else. Maybe someday, when we have some time left, we can gather around a new idea, and make a new amateur film. As far as I know, that's also what some of the other former members of the group wish.
For now, I'm happy to share in the web some of what we have done. I have visited some nice and inspiring amateur filmmakers' homepages, and felt like publishing our own. Hope you enjoy it! And would you like to make any comment, any question, or simply exchange amateur filmmaking experience or ideas, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at p_daldegan@yahoo.com
