A Life Divine: A Vicar-ious simulation
John McLaughlin's chord Intro with added |E string| Bass Note.
The right hand attack here( look at RH palm-up ,hold pick)
_r)a)m) K\/k_ ?
is one of the tougher pick and roll combinations I can claim to
have tried ,as I use (K\/k) alternate picking as a simulation of
Doug Rauch's bass figure kicking a roughly 12/8 rhythm feel.
Sound like the whole Band!
The fret #'s follow each RH attack so ,you'd do well to see the
lowest fret # in each flow grid as being where the (L1) 1rst
Left finger goes ,L2 and L3 trade off between the 6th and 3rd
strings and pinky L4 gives the top |E| string a steady grip
voicing any kind of 10ths or 11ths. See|B| is open, throughout.
Since the main Vamp is G#m(Ab Minor)__D#Minor(Eb Minor), other wise,
this wide contrast of Major ,Minor plus "sus" voicing gives John
McLaughlin some interesting options to voice the relative Major
chord BMaj( to G#m) ,the F# (to D# Minor), etc.
!!!!! B MAJOR/D#* Use this "grip" to see the first TAB voiced .
