Dinah Marler

designated whiner

The product of Ross Marler and Vanessa Chamberlain, Dinah Marler was raised in the circus. So it's no wonder Ms. Marler is so screwed up. Upon returning to Springfield a spoiled bitch-in-training, she married Roger Thorpe and had herself kidnapped in order to try to obtain her trust fund. After her marrriage, and the subsequent return of Roger's son Hart, Dinah began to reform, turning into the whiny "heroine" that she is supposed to be today. She fell in love with Hart and gaslighted Roger, in one of the stupidest soap plots ever. Now divorced from Roger and engaged to Hart, she is having trouble with her engagement. Seems Dinah and Hart share some fundamental lifestyle differences. Dinah spent most of her time fighting with Hart and complaining to Matt about wanting to be more like her mother. But how much more like her mother did Dinah want to be? Enough to land her mother's husband/widow? Hmmm...guess not. Dinah had other things to worry about, namely, keeping her man. Dinah began whining about Cassie Lane and how she thought that Cassie was trying to steal her man. She also began gulping down birth control pills behind Hart's back. When Hart discovered Dinah's double dealing he kicked her to the curb. The y got back together briefly as Dinah set up a surprise wedding for Hart, but before they could get hitched, Blake foiled her plans with a phony stomach cramp, giving Hart the time to realize that he was really in love with Cassie. Hart dumped Dinah again, causing Dinah to get a teensy bit peeved. She resolved to get her man back no matter what the cost, and in no time flat, brought Cassie's ex-con hubby back to Springfield. As it turned out, Cassie messed things up with Hart on her own by keeping mum to Hart about the Reva Clone, sending a drunken Hart back into Dinah's web. Dinah convinced Hart that they slept together, and then a few days later got Rob to actually do the deed himself before leaving town. Dinah hopes her bedroom antics will lead her to a quick pregnancy.
