Wacky Dough (Silly Putty)
James Wright, an engineer at General Electric, discovered Silly Putty, in 1943. Samples were sent to engineers around the world, but no practical use was found for it. Unemployed advertising agent, Hodgson, became the marketing genius behind selling it as a toy. His place became known as the Silly Putty Estate, and was worth $140 million dollars at the time of his death.
