Festivals, Conventions, and Productions The Science of Oz traveling science exhibit.Based on the famous MGM/Judy Garland movie, it demonstrates such scientific phenomena as cyclone winds, rainbows, three-dimensional scenery, balancing , and robotics via the Tin Woodman. Below is a tentative schedule of the exhibit: February-April, 2000: Arkansas Museum of Science and History, Little Rock, Arkansas June-August, 2000: Magic House, St. Louis, Missouri October-December, 2000: Creative Discovery Museum, Chattanooga, Tennessee June-August, 2001: Children's Discovery Museum, San Jose, California **********

of Oz Club is sponsoring this mega-convention, celebrating the first one hundred years of Oz. For current

June 2-4, 2000: L. Frank Baum Festival, Chittenango, New York. L. Frank Baum's hometown
celebrates its famous son. Guests include many of the actors who played the Munchkins in the famous
MGM film version of The Wizard of Oz, and noted Oz author and historian John Fricke. Events include a
Friday night spaghetti dinner, a Saturday parade and costume contest, craft and memorabilia booths, and

Autumn, 2000: Lion of Oz and the Badge of Courage, the Disney Channel. Broadcast of the animated
prequel to The Wizard of Oz, based on the book by Roger S. Baum. Featuring the voices of Jason
Priestley as the Lion, Lynn Redgrave as the Wicked Witch of the East, Tim Curry, Dom Deluise, Bobcat
Goldthwait, Kathy Griffin, and Jane Harrocks.************
