The family name of Randall is distinctly tracable back to the period of the Norman Conquest of England, AD 1086. It first appears in the celebrated Doomsday Book of William the Conqueror, in the assignment of lands to individuals bearing this name.

There is much uncertainty regarding the early history of our Ancestor, John Randall. It is known that several persons by the name of Randall were among the early settlers of New England.

John Randall was born May 28, 1629 in Bath, England and died 1684 in Westerly Village, Providence Plantation, Rhode Island. He married Elizabeth______ in London, England. He arrived in Newport, Rhode Island in 1666.
