A Small Cry
A light appears and I
walk towards it
I hear her calling my name
and I can feel her presence
That I cannot see her.
I can tell that she is scared
I know that she is alone
I can hear her pain in her voice
Yet I cannot see her in this light.
I feel a hand on my shoulder
and I turn around hoping to see her
but I come face to face with
my own reflection,
My inner self.
I grab my hand and lead
myself away from the light
Away from her voice
I no longer have control
over myself
And I no longer hear her cries.

Breaking Free from Within
Inside
I'm running down this long
empty hallway
I look to each end and
see forever
No beginning, no end.
I see a door
and I try to open it
It's locked
I keep running to
find another
None.
I turn the other way
to run
I run and run
My legs feeling weaker
and I almost need to rest
But I can't give up
I need out.
I run with tears
streaming down my face
Looking for a door
For a way out.
Finally, after my legs
almost collapse
I find one
Maybe a way out?
I grab the handle
May I finally be free?
I turn it slowly
and peek around the door
Sunlight hits my face
Am I free?
Am I really free?
I am
and I walk into the
warm sun
I am free
Free from myself from within.
