Christopher Santucci - Biography:
Christopher Santucci has been making images since the age of 4 when his father Richard gave him his first camera. Unfortunately that was about the same time his interest in mechanics took hold, and he soon thereafter disassembled the camera, rendering it useless. After spending many years hanging around his fathers photo studio, delivering papers, shooting for the neighborhood newspaper, and racing motorcycles, Chris attended Villa Maria college in Buffalo, New York. It was here that he began to develop his visual style, and began his appreciation of commercial and fine art.
After a number of years working on staff at one of Buffalo's premier commercial photography studios, Chris finally embarked on a freelance career and moved on to work for William Hawkes in Los Angeles, and B-HIVE Productions. His experience comes from not only working with some of the best commercial directors and shooters in the industry, but also from his 15 years as a commercial photographer.
Chris has won numerous awards from Buffalo ad clubs. He has become known for his lighting ability, and for his aversion to the ordinary and the mundane. His still and motion images have been used in marketing, advertising, and sales materials for the United Way, Eddia Beverly Hills, Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Corporation, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Zippo, Reimann & Georger, Innovative Concepts in Entertainment, Ontario Ministry of Health, and other companies.
In recent years Chris has concentrated his efforts on narrative film making and has served as Director of Photography on an ambitious digital feature film called "The Falls", which has been accepted into numerous festivals and is currently available on DVD. Chris is currently overseeing post production on a feature film he photographed called "My Wife and My Dead Wife." and is in talks to photograph 2 feature films in summer 2005.
He’s most happy when he’s got a camera in his hands, and lives for a good crew and a good story to tell.
Chris spends a some of his spare time writing screenplays, and shooting short films. His other spare time is generally spent playing guitar, working out, reading fiction, or playing with his friends.
