			*YAMAHA TZR 1993*

	This was my second bike, and here are some pictures of rebuilding. And some pictures when the bike was ready to roll. When i first bought the bike, the engine was in poor condition -so was the bodywork. It didn´t have to power even to destroy the old rear tire. So i decided to blow this bike to pieces. In two days, there was only a pile of parts and the rebuilding could begin. First i spacled the chassis and sprayed silver clearcoat on it. After that i bought new tires, i put the fork and the wheels back. also the rear chainwheel was replaced with new. So it was time for putting the engine in "racing mood". The original gears clutch was ok so i left them alone. The cylinder was borred in the next size and new piston was installed. I improved the flowing by softening all the sharp corners at the cylinder and make the flowing "holes" litte bigger. Intake & exthaust "holes" were left alone. Also the top of the piston was filed a litte (1-1.5mm) at the position of flowing "holes" so it would open up earlier and close later -so there would be better flowing. The sharp edges of the piston "skirt" were also smoothened with a file. This would make the piston stronger -doesn´t crack so easy. And the pagage were put together and in the bikes chassis. The Exhaust pipe was modified radically, first i took a hacksaw in my hand and sawed the pipe in three pieces, so i could remove all stuff inside that eats power. Also the "grill" y see, when looking into start of the pipe was removed. I used a metal bar (other end sharpened -don´t know the name of this tool in english) and a hammer to take the inside stuff out. It was a lot of hammering -belive me. And the original silencer were carefully sawed out of the pipe, because inside the end of the pipe -goes a smaller pipe about 22mm and the new silencer were installed there -check out the chassis-picture before!!! The new silencer was smaller than a beer can, so it was little loud. The police newer say anything about it , even when they stop me and check the bike a little..=) When the pipe was welded together, i looked the fitting of the silencer, and it didn´t look good enough. So i welded a little piece of pipe between the pipe and silencer -and it was beautiful, check out this picture



		This is how it looked ready, after all the work...The color was real dark purple -it looked black in the shadow and little purple into sun. Back to homepage, klick here
