Dennis
Golobic and his son John established GT American Race Cars
in February 1998. Dennis and John bring 25 years of racing
experience to the business. Dennis raced super sedans in
the 70's and 80's with John, barely old enough, on his pit
crew.
The
Golobic family's love for racing steered them towards go-karts
and it was John's turn to drive. After 4 years in go-karts,
it was time to go Sprint car racing. For 10 years John and
his family raced sprint cars all over California with Dennis
as his crew chief. They raced the NARC tour and competed
in the points series at San Jose and Chico.
The
Golobic family began to grow and John had 2 sons who had
cheered him on at every race. At age 5, John introduced
his son Shane to Quarter Midgets at Baylands
Quarter Midget track in San Jose. Shane told his dad
that he wanted to race too - it was in his blood. John spent
1-year racing Shane in quarter midgets during the days while
rushing off in the evenings to race sprint cars.
Soon Shane's desire for racing grew. John and Dennis decided
it was time to focus on racing with Shane and away from
racing Sprint Cars. Dennis (Shane's Grandpa) always dreamed
of building racecars. Dennis and John decided to make that
dream come true. What started out as a hobby, building 2
cars for Shane, has turned into a full time business that
is a natural stepping stone in the Golobic family's racing
path. There are currently over 300 GTs racing in all classes
from California to New York.
GT
American is a family operated business with Dennis and John
specializing in the cars and their performance. Tami Golobic
(John's wife) manages the office. Tami works closely with
Jill Zieske (John's sister) on promoting the GT kids and
advertising the racecars. Jill is also the GT American photographer.
Russ Vazquez (one of GT's first customers and close family
friend) is the Web master. Isaac Rickets is our fabricator
and shop foreman. Isaac, Dennis and John work closely on
all design developments. Hung T is our welder. Bill Fosebenner
(GT's first customer) is our all around "do it all guy"
that we couldn't do without!
GT
American·s East Coast representative, Tim Clauson
has been a valuable contributor to the success of GT American
Race Cars. His son Bryan Clauson, age 10, has been a house
car driver since the beginning. Bryan and Tim have worked
very well together testing all areas of the GT American
Race Car. Tim has been instrumental in educating GT American
customers on chassis set up, handling and performance benefits
of the GT American Race Car. Bryan currently drives our
newest product, a 600 Micro. Bryan has had a very successful
year, visit his website at www.bryanclauson.net.
GT
American's most Valuable handler on our team is Shane and
Dustin's uncle, Mike Zieske. Mike is instrumental in the
success of Shane and Dustin and GT American. He works on
the cars, is an awesome "tire guy", and helps
run the parts trailer at all of the races.
