1969 Ford Mustang Coupe

The 1969 Mustang was a much different looking Mustang than the past. There were 293,338 total Mustangs sold in 1969, of which 147,381 were coupes. It had some nice touches, including the racy-looking, swept-back headlight housings and the gentle "V" shaping of the front. On the convertibles and coupes, a rear facing exhaust vent was positioned ahead of the rear wheel arch. The coupes "C" pillars were made wider, forming a tunnel effect for the rear window.

For engine variations, the 200 six was Mustang's base engine. For $39 extra a bigger six, 250 cid, could be ordered, with 155bhp. The famous 289, that had been the base V8 for the years before, had been replaced with the 302 2V engine, that was rated at 220 bhp. The two other small block V8's were the 351 2V and 351 4V, which were new for the 1969. Two big blocks for the coupe was available: The 390 and 428, with 320 and 335 bhp respectively.
