1969 Ford Mustang Grande

The Luxury Mustang

Available in hardtop form only, the Grande was the soft- shoe-shuffle Mustang for the luxury boulevard set. Its interior came with many luxury options as standard and had simulated wood all over the place. An additional 55 pounds of sound insulation came with the car along with much softer spring settings, though there was nothing to stop buyers from choosing big-blocks engines and stiff suspension for it. The base engine was still the six. The Grande cost $230 more than the coupe. Unique to the Grande were special bucket seats with hopsack clost inserts as well as a vinyl roof.

This was the first and only year the Grande was available.
