Heres a little something I'm working up about some of my favorite bands and other cool music stuff.
Metallica would have to be my all-time favorite band.
My guitar rig consist of:
I was lucky enough to catch Metallica in concert August 2003 at the USANA Ampitheater in SLC. The show was a late addition to the Summer Sanitarium Tour. The only opening act was MudVayne. I don't know too much of their stuff so I wasn't too into them. Lots of screaming with the occasional F-Bomb for emphasis.
Metallica rocked the place for the two hours. What a set!! Anyone who says Metallica is too old or doesn't put on a good live show has obviously never seen them live. The music speaks for itself and they blew the place up.
Here is the setlist from the show. August 6, 2003. USANA Ampitheater. SLC, UT

Seek and Destroy

February 10, 2004, my roomates and I went to see Linkin Park in concert at the E Center in SLC. Story of the Year opened, followed by Hoobastank, and P.O.D. They were all pretty good, P.O.D. put on a great show and really got the crowd going. When Linkin Park hit the stage I was about eight people back from the front. There show was great and they played mostly new stuff from the Meteora albumn, with the hits from Hybrid Theory thrown into the mix as well.
Here's a couple of pics of James Hetfield, the greatest heavy metal guitarist ever.
I took up guitar playing my freshman year of college, with all the spare time saved from not stuying, and have formed a repretoire of a few songs that I have down cold. One thing they all tend to have in common are sweet riffs
Metallica songs that rule to Play:
Enter Sandman
No Leaf Clover
Bleeding Me
Outlaw Torn
The Small Hours
Seek and Destroy
And a slew of other songs where I know a riff or a chorus but not the whole song, so I just play what I know and get made fun of for not being a good guitar player.
-A Squire Strat ($100 Cheapy)
-An Epiphone Les Paul Junior ($100 cheapy)
-Fender Frontman 25watt amp
-Line 6 POD 2.0 amp sim and effects processor
-Boss DS-1 dist pedal, modified by Robert Keeley
-Dunlop CryBaby Wah
-Behringer FCB 1010 foot controller to run the POD with my feet, with wah and volume pedals. (It's most excellent)
Typically I like to tune down a half step to get a little more beef out of the low end, and I occasionally tune to drop D or drop D down a half step for the heavier stuff.
Future plans call for a Gibson Explorer and Mesa/Boogie Single Rectifier half stack.
