This site is about my 1985 Honda CRX Si. To me the car is worthy of a site as it is one of the most unique CRX's that Honda made for us here in the States. 1985 was the first year that the Si model was imported here, and in '85 the black ones were of a limited production. I went to the dealer in June of '85 to "order" my car, only to be told that the black ones were not "orderable", rather you took the next one that was allocated to each dealer. I waited two weeks for mine and when I picked it up I was told that mine was only the fifth black Si that they had sold since they came out, which was either in Jan. or Feb.. That figures out to one per month per dealer or less!

The 1985 Si also has some uniqueness to it in it's design. These cars were the first ones to have the now very popular out-sliding sunroof, a Honda invention. It also has a real "whale-tail" rubber lip on the rear. In 1986 they redesigned the rear end and moved the "tail" to the back vertical surface just above the tail lights, whereas mine sits on the top surface with the rear wiper. This was neccessary due to vision restrictions caused by the addition of the third inside mounted brake light.

I have made some changes to the car, nothing drastic though, just cosmetic changes. I added 14" MSW Type 5 wheels to it, painted the lower sections the same black as the car, added a bra, and flush headlight covers. The car is still mechanically stock except for the K&N air filter. It currently has 71,XXX miles on it and gets stored every winter.
